Updating the Super Featherweight Boxing Rankings after Emanuel Navarrete defeated Oscar Valdez by Unanimous Decision

Honorable Mention

Before we get on to the Super Featherweight Boxing Rankings, here are some fighters who couldn’t make it on the list, but deserve an honorable mention.

Robson Conceição

Robson Conceição is a Brazilian professional boxer with an impressive record of 17 wins and 2 losses

As an amatuer, Conceição won a gold medal in the 2016 Olympics. After moving to the professional ranks, he amassed an undefeated record of 16-0 before losing to Oscar Valdez in a title fight, with the WBC Junior Lightweight title on the line.

In his most recent fight, Conceição lost to Shakur Stevenson. The fight was mostly one-sided, and Stevenson won via Unanimous Decision. There is no announcement about Conceição’s next fight.

Lamont Roach Jr.

Lamont Roach is an American professional boxer, with a record of 23 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw.

Roach is the former WBO International super featherweight champion, and he has held multiple other regional titles as well. He also challenged Jamel Herring for the WBO Super featherweight title, but could not win.

In his most recent fight, he defeated Angel Rodriguez via unanimous decision, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

Zelfa Barrett

Zelfa Barrett is a professional boxer from the United Kingdom with a record of 29 wins and 2 losses. He had a bounce back win against Jason Sanchez recently winning by unanimous decision. Barrett deserves an honorable mention.

Eduardo Ramirez

Eduardo Ramirez is a professional boxer from Mexico with a record of 27 wins and 3 losses. He lost to Issac Cruz by KO in his last fight but still deserves an honorable mention.

Top 10 Super Featherweight Boxing Rankings

10. Albert Bell

Albert Bell is an up-and-coming boxer from the US, and he has an undefeated professional record of 24-0. 

Bell recently won the WBO NABO Super Featherweight title and previously held the WBC Continental Americas Super Featherweight title as well. In his most recent fight, he defeated Presco Carcosia, and there is no announcement about his next fight as of now. 

9. Kenichi Ogawa

Kenichi Ogawa is a talented fighter from Japan and has a record of 27 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 1 no-contest. 

Ogawa is the Former IBF super-featherweight world champion. He won the title after defeating Azinga Fuzile. He also held the Japanese Super-Featherweight title from 2014 to 2017, defending it 5 times. 

In his most recent fight, he defeated Kaewfah Tor Buamas, and he’ll be fighting Marvin Esquierdo on his next fight.

8. Anthony Cacace

Anthony Cacace is an Irish professional boxer, and he has a record of 21 wins with only 1 loss. 

Cacace is the current BO super-featherweight world champion, and he has previously held the British super-featherweight title as well. In his most recent fight, he defended the IBO title for the first time against Damian Wrzesiński, winning the fight via Unanimous Decision. 

There is no announcement about his next fight as of now.

7. Roger Gutierrez

Roger Gutierrez is a young Venezuelan boxer who has an impressive record of 27 wins and only 4 losses with 1 draw. 

He is the Former WBA super-featherweight champion of the world and won the title after defeating René Alvarado. He also currently holds the WBA Fedelatin super featherweight title, which he won in his most recent fight, after defeating Henry Delgado via KO

As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.

6. O’Shaquie Foster

Title(s):

  • WBC Super Featherweight World Champion

O’Shaquie Foster is an American professional boxer with a record of 20 wins and 2 losses.

Foster has held the current WBC silver super-featherweight title and has defended it three times. He defeated Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov via unanimous decision, and recently fought Rey Vargas on February 11, 2023.

O’Shaquie Foster dominated then undefeated Rey Vargas giving him his first loss winning by unanimous decision. That win made Foster the new WBC Super Featherweight Champion.

5. Shavkat Rakhimov

Shavkat Rakhimov is a professional boxer from Tajikistan, with a record of 17 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. 

Rakhimiv is the former IBF Super-Featherweight world champion, having previously held the IBO Super-Featherweight title as well. He won the vacant title after defeating Zelfa Barrett last year, however, recently, he lost the title to the former champion, Joe Cordina

The fight was competitive, but the knockdown scored by Cordina in the second round got him the win.

4. Hector Luis García

Title(s):

  • WBA Super Featherweight World Champion

Hector Luis García is a Dominican professional boxer, with an undefeated professional record of 16 wins, 1 loss, and 3 no-contests.

Garcia is the Current WBA Super Featherweight world champion. He won the world title after defeating Roger Gutiérrez. In his most recent fight, he moved up in weight to fight Gervonta Davis for the WBA lightweight title but lost the fight.

As of now, there is no official announcement about Garcia’s next fight.

3. Joe Cordina

Title(s):

  • IBF Super Featherweight World Champion

Joe Cordina is a professional boxer from Wales, and he has an undefeated professional record of 16 wins and 0 losses. 

Cordina is the current IBF Super Featherweight world champion and has held the title twice. He won the title for the first time last year but was stripped of his title when he could not make a mandatory defense against Shavkat Rakhimov because of a hand injury. 

Recently, he defeated Shavkat Rakhimov to regain his title, after a hard-fought fight, which ended in a split-decision win for Cordina, who scored a second-round knockdown and clearly did the most damage in the fight.

2. Oscar Valdez

Oscar Valdez is a Mexican professional boxer with a record of 30 wins and only 1 loss. 

Valdez has held world titles in two different weight classes. He is the former WBO featherweight champion, and also held the unified WBC and The Ring super-featherweight titles, before losing them to Shakur Stevenson. 

In his most recent fight, he faced off against Emanuel Navarrete with the WBO Super Featherweight title on the line but came up short. As of now, there is no announcement about who Valdez would fight next.

1. Emanuel Navarrete

Title(s):

  • WBO Super Featherweight World Champion

Emanuel Navarrete is a professional boxer from Mexico, and he has a record of 37 wins and 1 loss.

Navarrete has held world titles in 3 different weight classes. He is the current WBO Super Featherweight world champion and has also held the WBO title at featherweight and junior featherweight.

Navarrete won the WBO super Featherweight title fight against Liam Wilson. Even though he was knocked down in the fourth round, Navarette was able to come back and win the fight via knockout in the 9th round.

Last weekend, he defended the  WBO Super Featherweight against Óscar Valdez winning the fight via Unanimous Decision after outlanding Valdez for most of the fight.
