Updating the Top 10 Pound For Pound Boxers Rankings after Terence Crawford defeated Errol Spence Jr. and Naoya Inoue deafeating Stephen Fulton

Gervonta Davis

Title(s):

  • WBA Lightweight Regular Champion

Gervonta Davis is an American Boxer with an undefeated professional record of 29 wins and 0 losses. 

Davis has held world titles in three different weight classes, he recently held the WBA lightweight world title and defended it 4 times. He also held the same title at super lightweight, and the WBA (Super) and IBF titles at super featherweight.

Against Hector Garcia, he had quite a competitive fight until the 8th round when Davis dropped Garcia with a flush straight left. Davis continued to visibly hurt Garcia for the remainder of the round. The fight was called off by Garcia Corner after the 8th round and Davis won via Corner stoppage. 

Recently, Davis fought Ryan Garcia. He dominated the fight from start to finish, getting a knockdown in the second round, followed by a finish in the seventh round. It was done by a body shot that shutdown Garcia for the 10 count.

Outside the Top 10 of Pound for Pound Boxers but deserves an honorable mention. No announcement on his next fight.

Juan Francisco Estrada

Juan Francisco Estrada is one of the best boxers to come out of Mexico. He has a professional record of 44 wins and 3 losses.

Estrada is a two-division world champion; he is the current unified WBA (super), and The Ring super flyweight champion. He is also the former WBC super flyweight champion. At flyweight, he won the WBA (Unified) and WBO titles as well. 

Estrada fought Argi Cortes and though many expected Estarda to tear through Cortes, the fight was much more competitive. Still, Estarda managed to score the decision win.

In his most recent fight, Estrada fought his long-term rival Román González and won the very competitive fight via Majority Decision. As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight and sits slightly outside the Top 10 Pound for Pound Boxers.

10. Jermell Charlo

Opening the Top 10 Pound for Pound Boxers is Jermell Charlo. Charlo is an American professional boxer, and he has a record of 35 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. 

Charlo is the current undisputed light middleweight champion of the world. He currently holds the unified WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, IBF, and The Ring light middleweight titles, and has many impressive wins in the division.

In his most recent fight, Charlo defeated Brian Castaño via 10th-round KO and added the WBO light-middleweight title to his resume. Charlo will be facing Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed Super Middleweight Titles

9. Vasyl Lomachenko

Vasyl Lomachenko is a Boxer from Ukraine. He has a professional boxing record of 19 wins and 2 losses. 

Lomachenko has won world titles in three different world classes, and at lightweight, he held the unified WBA (Super), WBO, WBC, and The Ring lightweight titles. He lost the title to Teofimo Lopez, however, since then, he has won his next three fights in a row

In his most recent fight, Lomachenko faced Devin Haney for the undisputed title. Lomachenko lost a close fight to Haney losing by split decision. Lomachenko won the early rounds and later rounds as well with heavy shots but was not enough.

8. Errol Spence Jr.

At #8 of the pound for pound boxers list, we have Errol Spence Jr, an American boxer with a record of 28-1.

Errol Spence Jr. is the current unified WBA (super), WBC, and IBF welterweight world champion, and he has defeated some big names in the sport. 

Spence faced Yordenis Ugás and took a little time to get into the rhythm, however, in the middle rounds, he started landing strong left hands, and vicious body shots which slowed Ugas down. The fight was stopped by the doctor in the 10th round as Ugar took too much damage. 

Recently, Spence faced Terence Crawford for his WBO Welterweight World Title. He lost via TKO in the ninth round. Spence, after winning the first round, was unable to recover after he was knocked down in the second. No announcement on his next fight but he is looking for a rematch.

7. Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury is an undefeated heavyweight boxer from Britain, and he has a record of 33-0. Fury is also the current WBC Heavyweight champion of the world. 

Fury also holds the title of Lineal Heavyweight champion, and back in 2015, he defeated Wladimir Klitschko to become the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight world champion. 

Last weekend, Fury fought Derek Chisora, and won the fight via TKO in the 10th round. The fight was mostly one sided, as Fury outclassed his opening from the start to the end.

Tyson Fury will be facing MMA star Francis Ngannou in boxing match on October 28th. Not sure if this win will move him up the P4P Boxing Rankings.

6. Shakur Stevenson

Shakur Stevenson is a professional boxer from the USA. He has an undefeated record of 18-0.

Stevenson is the former unified The Ring, WBO, and WBC super featherweight champion of the world. He was stripped of his titles after missing weight for his fight against Robson Conceição. Stevenson is also the former WBO Featherweight world champion and has held multiple regional titles. 

Stevenson put on a technical clinic against his last fight, Shuichiro Yoshino, defeating him via Unanimous Decision in a very one-sided match. There is no official announcement about his next fight yet.

5. Devin Haney

Devin Haney is an American Boxer with an undefeated record of 29-0 with 15 KOs. He is currently the #1 ranked lightweight boxer in the world, and holds all four major world titles at lightweight. 

Devin Haney is the current Undisputed lightweight champion, holding the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles.  Haney became the WBC champion back in 2019 when he was promoted to the Interim title. He defended the title three times before winning the undisputed titles. 

Haney fought George Kambosos Jr in a rematch, and won once again. Like the first fight, the rematch was quite onesided, with Haney taking the Unanimous Decision win.

Recently, Haney faced former undisputed champion Vasyl Lomachenko for his undisputed titles. Haney overcame Lomachenko’s early start and was able to connect against him enough in the middle rounds to win those.

He was able to hold off against Lomachenko in the later rounds and winning the 12th round which looked to be the deciding factor of the match.

Haney will move up to Super Lightweight to face Regis Prograis for the WBC title on October 28th. This win could move him up higher in the pound for pound boxers rankigns.

4. Oleksandr Usyk

  • WBA Heavyweight Super Champion
  • IBF Heavyweight World Champion
  • WBO Heavyweight World Champion
  • The Ring Heavyweight World Champion

Originally from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk is an undefeated boxer with a record of 19-0. Usyk is a two-weight unified world champion and one of the best active boxers right now. 

Usyk is the current unified WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight world champion. He is also the former unified Cruiserweight champion, where he held the WBA, WBA, WBC, and IBF titles reigning as the undisputed champion. 

Last weekend, he had a rematch against Anthony Joshua, and won again, retaining his titles and winning the Vacant “The Ring” heavyweight title as well. This fight was very close, and AJ came out more aggressive and managed to put pressure on Usyk. However, Usyk rallied in the championship rounds and won the fight via split decision. 

3. Canelo Alvarez

  • WBC Super Middleweight Champion
  • IBF Super Middleweight Champion
  • WBO Super Middleweight Champion
  • The Ring Super Middleweight Champion

Canelo Alvarez is a Mexican professional boxer with a record of 59 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws. 

He is the current undisputed super middleweight champion of the world, collectively holding the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and The Ring Super Middleweight titles. Canelo has also won world titles at light middleweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight. 

Canelo fought his long-time rival Gennady Golovkin for the third time. It was a largely one-sided fight, and though GGG rallied at the end, it was too little too late, and Canelo won the fight via Unanimous Decision.

Canelo recently fought John Ryder whom Canelo dominated throughout the fight. He broke Ryder’s nose early and knocked down Ryder in the fifth round. Canelo wasn’t able to finish him and the fight went to the score cards which Canelo won by unanimous decision.

2. Naoya Inoue

Naoya Inoue is a Japanese boxer with an undefeated record of 25 wins and no losses.

Inoue is a 4-division world champion. He is the current unified WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion and has previously held the undisputed title at bantamweight as well. He has held world titles at junior bantamweight and light-flyweight as well. 

Last weekend, Inoue defeated Stephen Fulton to win the Super bantamweight title. He won the fight via TKO in the 8th round, after landing a knockdown in the same round.

Naoya Inoue definitely secures his spot in the Top 3 of the best pound for pound boxers.

1. Terence Crawford

Terence Crawford is an American Boxer with an impressive undefeated record of 40-0

He has won multiple world titles in three different weight divisions, is also the current WBO welterweight world champion, and has already made six title defenses. At light welterweight, he reigned as the Undisputed Champion.  

Recently, Crawford faced Errol Spence Jr. and dominated the fight from the 2nd round till on. Crawford knocked down Spence in the second round and later twice in the seventh round. The referee stepped in the ninth round to secure the victory for Crawford.

Terence Crawford has/is solidifying as one of the best welterweight boxers ever, the best welterweight boxer today, and the current #1 pound for pound boxer in the world. No announcement on his next fight.
