Updating the Heavyweight Boxing Rankings after Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois by KO to remain the Unified Heavyweight Champion

We are updating the Heavyweight Boxing Rankings after Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his Unified Heavyweight titles against Daniel Dubois. Also, Zhilei Zhang defeating Joe Joyce again by KO to retain his WBO Heavyweight Interim Title.

Honorable Mention

Otto Wallin

Otto Wallin is a professional boxer from Sweden, and he has a record of 25 wins with only 1 loss. He is the former WBO continental heavyweight champion and has held the European Union heavyweight title as well. Though he doesn’t make it on our list, he deserves an honorable mention. 

Michael Hunter

Michael Hunter has a boxing record of 20 wins, 1 loss, and 2 draws. Throughout his career, Hunter has won several regional titles including the IBO and WBA Inter-Continental and the WBA International heavyweight title. He also gets an honorable mention before we move on to the rankings.

Luis Ortiz

Luis Ortiz is a Cuban boxer, with a record of 33 wins, 3 losses, and 2 no-contests. 

Ortiz is the former WBA interim heavyweight champion. He won the title in 2015 and defended it against Bryant Jennings in one of the most incredible fights of his career. He also fought Deontay Wilder for the WBC title and has also won many regional titles in his career including the WBA inter-continental heavyweight title.  

Ortiz defeated Charles Martin via TKO, and his next fight took on Andy Ruiz. He lost by unanimous decision and his next fight has not been announced yet. Ortiz sits just outside of the Top 10 Heavyweight Boxing Rankings.

10. Joseph Parker

Joseph Parker is a professional boxer from New Zealand, and he has a record of 33 wins and 3 losses. 

Parker is the former WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight champion. He won the WBO Heavyweight title back in 2017 after defeating Andy Ruiz Jr. He defended the title twice over the next year, before losing it to Anthony Joshua in 2018.

In his most recent fight, he defeated Faiga Opelu via 1st round TKO, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

9. Dillian Whyte

Dillian Whyte is a former kickboxer and mixed martial artist from England and now has a professional boxing record of 28 wins and 3 losses. 

Whyte is the former WBC interim heavyweight champion having held the title twice in his career, along with multiple regional titles. He has also secured wins over big names like Dereck Chisora, Robert Helenius, Lucas Browne, Joseph Parker, and Oscar Rivas. 

In his most recent fight, Dillan Whyte fought Jermaine Franklin, and won the fight via Majority Decision.

8. Joe Joyce

Joe Joyce is a British professional boxer, with an undefeated professional record of 15 wins and only 1 loss.

Joyce is the former WBO Interim world champion. He has also held multiple regional titles and won a silver medal in the 2016 olympics as well. 

In his most recent fight, Joe Joyce faced Zhilei Zhang in a rematch for the Interim WBO title on the line. He lost the fight via KO again and there is no announcement about his next fight.

7. Andy Ruiz Jr.

Andy Ruiz is a Mexican American Boxer, with a professional record of 35 wins and 2 losses.

Ruiz is the former unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion. He won the titles after fighting and defeating Anthony Joshua, in a short-notice fight. However, he lost the title in the rematch against Joshua. 

In his most recent fight, Ruiz defeated Luis Ortiz Via a Unanimous decision, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

6. Zhilei Zhang

  • WBO Heavyweight Interim Champion

Zhilei Zhang is a professional boxer from China, and he has a record of 25 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw. 

Zhang is the current WBO Interim Heavyweight world champion, and previously also held the WBO Oriental heavyweight title. In his most recent fight, he defeated Joe Joyce in a rematch via KO again. There is no announcement about his next fight.

5. Filip Hrgović

Filip Hrgović is a professional boxer from Croatia. He has an undefeated record of 16 wins and 0 losses.

Hrgović is the former WBC International heavyweight champion. He won the title in 2018 and defended it 5 times. He also held the IBF International heavyweight title and defended it twice. 

In his most recent fight, Filip Hrgović defeated Demsey McKean, and as of now, there is no announcement about his next fight.

4. Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua is a British professional boxer with a record of 26 wins and 3 losses. 

He is the former unified WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO world heavyweight champion, and has defended his titles against big names like Dillian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko, Charles Martin, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin.

In his most recent fight, he defeated Robert Helenius via TKO, and there is no official announcement about his next fight.

3. Deontay Wilder

Deontay Wilder is an American professional boxer, with a record of 43 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. 

Wilder is the former WBC Heavyweight champion and defended the title nine times, before losing it to Tyson Fury. He is one of the hardest-hitting heavyweight fighters, and 42 of his 43 wins have come by way of knockout. 

Wilder had an amazing trilogy fight against Fury which the first fight ended in a draw, Fury winning the second and also the third.

In his most recent fight, Wilder defeated Robert Helenius via first round knockout, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

2. Oleksandr Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk is an undefeated boxer from Ukraine, and he has a record of 21 wins and no losses. 

Usyk is a two-weight unified world champion. He is the current unified WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight world champion. He is also the former undisputed Cruiserweight champion

Last weekend, he defended his title against Daniel Dubois, winning the fight via Knockout in the 9th round. The fight sparked some controversy, regarding a low blow landed by Dubois in the fifth round, which put Usyk down. Where some fans and Dubois believed it was a legal blow, and should have ended the fight. 

Still, Usyk outlanded Dubois every round and won the fight in the 9th.

1. Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury is an undefeated heavyweight boxer from Britain, and he has a record of 33-0. Fury is also the current WBC Heavyweight champion of the world. 

Fury also holds the title of Lineal Heavyweight champion, and back in 2015, he defeated Wladimir Klitschko to become the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight world champion. 

In his most recent fight, Fury faced Derek Chisora, and won the fight via TKO in the 10th round. He is scheduled to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou on October 28th.
