Derek Chisora

Derek Chisora is a Zimbabwean-born British professional boxer, with a record of 32-11. He has held multiple regional titles and deserves an honorable mention.

 

Frank Sanchez

Last night, Frank Sanchez also picked up a win over up-and-coming Nigerian knockout artist Efe Ajagba, and now with an undefeated record of 19-0, he also deserves an honorable mention.

 

Kubrat Pulev

Kubrat Pulev has a record of 28 wins and 2 losses. He has notably won the European heavyweight title and the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title.

  1. Joe Joyce

Joe Joyce is a British professional boxer, with an undefeated professional record of 13-0.

He only turned pro in 2017 but has had an incredible amateur career, winning the silver medal in the 2016 Olympics. Joyce has also won several regional titles including the British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver, WBO International, and  European heavyweight titles.

His most recent fight was last weekend when he defeated Carlos Takam via TKO in the 6th round. As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.

 

 

  1. Luis Ortiz

Luis Ortiz is a Cuban boxer, and he is one of the most experienced and consistent boxers in the division. With a record of 32 wins, 2 losses, and 2 no-contests, Luis Ortiz has been there, done that. 

Most notably, Ortiz won the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title in 2015 and defended it against Bryant Jennings in what was one of the most incredible fights of Ortiz’s career. Ortiz has also won many regional titles in his career. 

He won his most recent fight against Alexander Flores via first-round knockout, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

 

 

  1. Michael Hunter

The next boxer on this list is from the US. Micheal Hunter has a boxing record of 20  wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. 

Throughout his career, Hunter has won several regional titles including the IBO and WBA Inter-Continental and the WBA International heavyweight title.

In his most recent fight, he defeated Mike Wilson via a vicious TKO in the 4th round and won the vacant WBA Continental Americas heavyweight title. As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.

 

 

  1. Andy Ruiz Jr.

Andy Ruiz is a Mexican American Boxer, with a professional record of 34 wins and 2 losses. 

Most notably, Ruiz got a chance to fight the unified champion, Anthony Joshua, after his opponent Jarrell Miller failed a drug test, Ruiz took the fight on short notice and managed to pull off an upset, knocking out Joshua in the 7th round, and handing him his first loss. Ruiz won the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, but lost them to Josua in the rematch. 

In his most recent fight, Ruiz defeated Chris Arreola Via a Unanimous decision, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

 

 

  1. Joseph Parker

With a record of 29-2, Joseph Parker is one of the most incredible boxers to come out of Newzealand. 

He won the WBO Heavyweight title in 2017 defeating Andy Ruiz Jr. He defended the title twice over the next year, before losing it to Anthony Joshua in 2018. 

In his most recent fight, he defeated Derek Chisora and won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title. His next bout is going to be a rematch against Chisora, which is scheduled for 18th Dec 2021.

 

 

  1. Deontay Wilder

Wilder is an American professional boxer, and arguably one of the hardest-hitting boxers in the sport, out of his 42 victories, only one has come to the scorecards, as he has 41 KOs on his record. He has 2 losses and 1 draw on his record. 

Wilder became the WBC Heavyweight champion in 2015, after defeating Bermane Stiverne. Wilder went on to defend the title nine times. 

The most exciting fights in Wilder’s career came against Tyson Fury, in their incredible trilogy which ended last night. The first fight ended in a controversial split-decision draw. However, in the rematch, Fury won by TKO in the seventh round, ending Wilder’s reign as the WBC heavyweight champion. 

Last night, Wilder challenged Fury again, though the fight was entertaining, and Wilder had some moments, especially in the 4th round when he knocked down Fury twice, Wilder got knocked out in the 10th round and lost the fight.

 

 

  1. Anthony Joshua

After losing to Oleksandr Usyk in his most recent fight, Joshua has dropped in the rankings. The British star now has a record of 34 wins and 2 losses 

Joshua is the former unified WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO world heavyweight champion, and has defended his titles against big names like Dillian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko, Charles Martin, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin.

In his most recent fight, he lost a unanimous decision to Oleksandr Usyk, who outboxed Joshua for twelve rounds, with Joshua not being able to bring back any worthy offense. Though there hasn’t been any official announcement yet, there are chances his next fight will be a rematch against Usyk.

 

 

  1. Dillian Whyte

Title(s): WBC Interim Champion

Dillian Whyte is a former kickboxer and mixed martial artist from England and now has a professional boxing record of 28 wins and 2 losses. 

Dillian Whyte is the current WBC interim heavyweight champion having held the title twice in his career, along with multiple regional titles. He has also secured wins over big names like Dereck Chisora, Robert Helenius, Lucas Browne, Joseph Parker, and Oscar Rivas. 

In his most recent fight against Alexander Povetkin, he avenged his loss and won the WBC interim heavyweight title. For his next fight, he will be fighting Otto Wallin on 30 Oct 2021.

 

 

  1. Oleksandr Usyk

Title(s): WBA Super, IBF, WBO Champion

Originally from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk is an undefeated boxer with a record of 19-0. Usyk is a two-weight unified world champion and one of the best active boxers right now. 

At cruiserweight, he reigned as the undisputed WBA, WBA, WBC, and IBF cruiserweight champion of the world, and also won the vacant The Ring cruiserweight title, all of which he defended once against Tony Bellow, before vacating them and moving up to heavyweight. 

Now, after putting on a technical clinic in his last fight against Joshua and winning by a Unanimous decision, he has become the unified WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion of the world.

 

 

  1. Tyson Fury

Title(s): WBC, The Ring Champion

On the top of the heavyweight division, the Gypsy King, Tyson Fury. The undefeated heavyweight has a record of 31-0, and last night, he put on one of the best fights in modern boxing.

Fury is the former unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight champion. However, after winning the titles, he had to put his career on hold because of struggles with depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse.

However, after two years, he made a comeback to the sport, and now after having an incredible trilogy against Deontay Wilder, he is the WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion. Fury also holds the title of Lineal Heavyweight champion of the world. 

He dropped wilder three times in the night last night, and almost had him out on his feet more times than that. Though fury got knocked out twice himself in the fourth. Fury also got knockdowns in the 3rd and 10th round, finally finishing the fight in the 11th, with a devastating right-hand knockout.
