Ranking the best NBA Teams going into the 2023 NBA Playoffs as the Milwaukee Bucks leads the way

The long 82 game schedule of the 2022-23 NBA Schedule delivered a long list of fireworks from the opening tip off of the regular season to the final whistle securing the final few playoff spots.
As you start to look around the NBA the league is loaded with talented NBA teams while the caliber of talent in the NBA continues to improve year in and year out.
One of those teams that warrants a spot among the Top 10 NBA Teams 2023 rankings list is the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks who finished the 2022-23 NBA season with the best overall record (58-24) took home the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
While Giannis Antetokounmpo and company locked up the best record in the NBA, they were just one of many teams that put together strong seasons.
Joining the Bucks on the list of the best teams in the NBA 2022-23 are the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings to name a few.
While the Buck secured the top spot in the Eastern Conference, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets took home the top spot within the Western Conference after posting a 53-29 record. Here is a look at the Top 10 NBA Teams 2023 rankings list:

Golden State Warriors
Record: 44-38

Just missing the Top 10 NBA Teams 2023 rankings list is the Golden State Warriors who finished with a 44-38 record while winning their final three games of the season to secure the sixth spot in the Western Conference.
While the team is still loaded on the offensive side of the floor with Klay Thompson and Steph Curry, injuries limited their potential while also struggling to slow down opposing teams offenses. Nonetheless, the Warriors have the firepower with Curry and Thompson to make a run in the NBA Playoffs.
Brooklyn Nets
Record: 45-37
Previous Ranking: #9
Entering the season high expectations were set on the Brooklyn Nets with stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant looking to carry the team on a deep playoff run.
Fast forward a few months later and both Irving and Durant have been traded while the team still held on to capture the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Winning six of their final 10 games, the Nets were led by Mikal Bridges who was acquired within the Durant trade. Over his final 10 games played, Bridges averaged 29.2 points per game for the Nets. The Nets also saw strong play from Spencer Dinwiddie, Nic Claxton, T.J. Warren and Cam Thomas.

10. Los Angeles Clippers
Record: 44-38

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 NBA Teams 2023 rankings list is the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers, who finished the regular season winning 44 of 82 games, locked up the fifth spot in the Western Conference while each of the team’s big two of Kawhi Leonard (50) and Paul George (56) appeared in fewer than 56 games during the regular season.
Nonetheless the Clippers have the talent including the addition of Russell Westbrook to go along with those two that kept them alive all season. The Clippers finished the season ranked 12th in the NBA allowing just 113.1 points per game.
9. New York Knicks

After landing a playmaking point guard in Jalen Brunson during the off-season the New York Knicks look like a promising team in the Eastern Conference.
Brunson delivered a vital role on the offense joining Julius Randle as the two players averaging at least 24 points. In addition to those two the Knicks roster includes RJ Barret and the talented sixth man Immanuel Quickley.
The Knicks finished the season ranked tied for 12th in the NBA in points allowed (113.1) while finishing ranked 11th in scoring while averaging 116 points per game and tied for second averaging 46.6 rebounds per game.
8. Phoenix Suns
Record: 45-37

The Phoenix Suns entered the season with high expectations after a disappointing finish during the 2021-22 NBA Playoffs. The Suns who finished with the best record in the NBA last season winning 64 of 18 games failed to win the NBA Championship as the Golden State Warriors took home the crown.
After a slow start, a rash of injuries, and landing an injured Kevin Durant, the Suns found a way to secure the 4th spot in the Western Conference while top stars are all back for a postseason run. Devin Booker finished the season leading the team in scoring while averaging 27.8 points per game over 53 games played.
7. Sacramento Kings
Record: 48-34

One of the more surprising teams around the NBA during the 2022-23 NBA Season was the Sacramento Kings who finished the season with a 48-34 record.
Their strong performance during the season secured the team the 3rd spot in the Western Conference while reaching the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2005-2006 NBA Season.
The Kings used their league high scoring offense that averaged 120.7 points per game to outscore their opponents. In all six different Kings averaged at least 12 points per game including four different players who averaged 15 and De’Aaron Fox who finished the year averaging a team high 25 points per game.
6. Cleveland Cavaliers

In a very talented and crowded Eastern Conference the Cleveland Cavaliers ranked among the best teams in the conference as well as within the NBA.
The Cavaliers who landed one of the prize off season acquisitions in Donovan Mitchell were as good as any team in the NBA all season while ranking among the best defensive teams in the NBA while allowing 106.9 points per game.
The team's stingy defense including holding opponents to just a 46.8 field goal percentage helped the team to their 51 wins this season. Mitchell led the team averaging 28.3 points per game while Darius Garland averaged 21.6 points per game.
5. Memphis Grizzlies

Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NBA Teams 2023 rankings list is the Memphis Grizzlies who finished in second place in the Western Conference.
For many years a second-place finish within the Western Conference would have landed the Grizzlies a top three spot on this list.
However, the conference was not as strong as in year’s past and the downplay of JA Morant since returning to the team has many wondering if the team has the roster depth to make a deep run in the playoffs. Nonetheless it is hard to look past the 51 wins the Grizzlies posted during the 2022-23 NBA schedule.
4. Philadelphia 76ers
Record: 54-28

When it comes to the top four teams around the NBA each put together strong seasons while winning at least 53 games during the NBA regular season.
In the end the Philadelphia 76ers landed in third place in the Eastern Conference while posting a 5-5 record down the stretch. The 76ers, who are led by NBA MVP candidate Joel Embiid, ranked among the best defensive teams in the NBA while allowing just 110.9 points per game.
Embiid finished the season leading the NBA in scoring while averaging 33.1 points per game while James Harden and Tyrese Maxey each averaged at least 20 points per game this season.
3. Denver Nuggets
Record: 53-29

Taking a big stride forward during the 2022-23 NBA season was the Denver Nuggets who finished in sixth in the Western Conference last season before taking home the top spot during the 2022-23 NBA season.
The Nuggets were strong on both ends of the floor while finishing the season leading the NBA in field goal percentage while averaging 50.4 shooting from the field and ranking eighth in the NBA allowing just 112.5 points per game.
With the return of a healthy Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray to go along with two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic the Nuggets were difficult to beat all season while posing a 34-7 record at home this season.
2. Boston Celtics

When it comes to the top two teams in the NBA it is hard to debate which of these two teams earned the top spot. However, with the Boston Celtics finishing with the second-best record in the NBA after winning 57 games, it is easy to slot them in at number two.
The Celtics are as talented as any team in the NBA while having two of the game's top young stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who each averaged at least 26 points per game this season.
While the team was strong on both ends of the floor, they finished the season ranked fourth in scoring averaging 117.9 points per game and fourth in the NBA in points allowed per game while allowing just 111.4 points per game. In addition, the Celtics featured an all-around strong team with eight players averaging at least 23 minutes per game.

In at number one on the Top 10 NBA Teams 2023 rankings list is the Milwaukee Bucks who finished the season with the best record in the NBA after winning 58 of their 82 games this season.
Led by the Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo the Bucks were nearly unbeatable for most of the season including within the conference where the team posted a 35-17 record.
With Antetokounmpo carrying the load on both ends of the floor the Bucks averaged 116.9 points per game while also leading the NBA in rebounding while averaging 48.6 rebounds per game.
The Bucks have one of the deeper rosters in the NBA with six total players averaging at least 10 points per game, and eight total players averaging at least 23 minutes per game.
