Ranking the best NBA Players for the 2023 NBA Playoffs as Joel Embiid leads the way in the rankings

The 2022-23 NBA Schedule has wrapped up while delivering fans an exciting season from the opening tip off to the final whistle of the season.
As you start to look around the NBA, the talent level is at an all-time high with superstars appearing every year to fill out an already star-studded cast of talent.
One player who continues to play at an extremely high level while ranking among the best scorers in all of the NBA is the Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid.
Embiid finished the season leading all scorers for the second straight season to earn him the top spot on the Top 10 NBA Players 2023 rankings list.
While Embiid lands atop the list of the best NBA players while possibly taking home his first NBA MVP Award. Joining Embiid on the list includes the Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
In addition, future Hall of Famer and NBA All-Time Scoring Leader LeBron James continues to play at an elite level night in and night out. Here is a look at the Top 10 NBA Players 2023 rankings list.

Anthony Davis
Team: Los Angeles Lakers

Landing just outside of the Top 10 NBA Players 2023 rankings list is the Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis. Davis, who when healthy ranks among the best players in the NBA and one of the best big men in all of basketball.
The Lakers center finished the season appearing in 56 games while leading the NBA averaging 12.5 rebounds per game. In addition, Davis averaged 25.9 points per game to go along with 2.6 assists, two blocked shots, and 1.1 steals per game.
Donovan Mitchell
Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
Previous Ranking: Unranked
One of the best off-season moves entering the 2022-23 NBA Season was the Cleveland Cavaliers trade for proven young star Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell didn’t disappoint in his first season with the Cavaliers while helping the team finish with a 51-31 record and the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference.
Mitchell finished the season ranked 10th in the NBA while averaging 28.3 points per game to go along with 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 48.4 from the field.

10. Kevin Durant

In at number 10 on the Top 10 NBA Players 2023 rankings list is Kevin Durant who ranks among the best players in the NBA each NBA season.
Only thing sliding Durant down the list for the 2022-23 NBA Schedule is injuries which have hampered Durant over the past few seasons.
Durant, who was traded to the Phoenix Suns before the 2022-23 NBA Trade deadline finished off the season averaging 25.6 points per game to go along with 5.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists over his last five games of the season.
Overall Durant averaged 29.1 points per game over 47 games played between the Suns and Brooklyn Nets while averaging 6.7 rebounds, five assists, and 1.4 blocked shots.
9. Stephen Curry
Team: Golden State Warriors

One of the best shooters in the NBA as well as one of the greatest all around shooters continues to dominate each night on the hardwood for the Golden State Warriors.
Despite battling injuries during the 2022-23 NBA Schedule, Steph Curry managed to finish the season averaging 29.4 points per game over 56 games played while helping the Warriors secure the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
Curry finished the season averaging at least 25 points for the seventh time of his NBA career. The Warriors star also averaged 6.1 rebounds per game and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 42.7 percent from behind the three-point line.
8. Shai-Gilgeous-Alexander
Team: Oklahoma City Thunder

As the 2022-23 NBA Schedule wraps up, one of the bright spots and biggest surprise among the best players in the NBA is the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai-Gilgeous Alexander.
Gilgeous-Alexander who has been a strong player over the previous two seasons took his game to the next level this season while averaging a career high 31.4 points per game while finishing fourth in the NBA in scoring. Gilgeous-Alexander's strong play helped guide the Thunder to the play-in tournament for the NBA playoffs.
7. LeBron James
Team: Los Angeles Lakers

King James officially became the NBA Scoring Leader after passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the All-Time NBA Scoring Leader during the 2022-23 NBA season.
James finished the season averaging 28.9 points per game while averaging 8.3 rebounds per game and 6.8 assists per game for the Los Angeles Lakers this season.
James topped the 28 points per game mark for the sixth time in his career while averaging at least eight rebounds for his sixth time in his career.
Despite being one of the oldest players in the NBA James continues to rank among the best all around players who can play on both ends of the floor.
6. Damian Lillard
Team: Portland Trail Blazers

Once one of the top point guards in all of the NBA, Damian Lillard returned to top tier status after battling injuries the past few seasons while limiting him to just 29 games last season.
Lillard who has been the face of the Portland Trail Blazers organization since being drafted with the sixth pick during the 2012 NBA Draft. The Trail Blazers point guard finished 3rd in the NBA in scoring while averaging 32.2 points per game.
In addition, Lillard returned to his top status as one of the games top passers while ranking 10th in the NBA in assists while averaging 7.3 assists per game this season. Lillard also added 4.8 rebounds per game to go along with nearly one steal per game (.9).
5. Nikola Jokic
Team: Denver Nuggets

Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NBA Players 2023 rankings list is the Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. As you start to look at these top 10 NBA players, each of these five players are well deserving of the top overall spot with Jokic well deserving as well.
The Nuggets big man posted another strong season while helping the Nuggets bounce to the top seed in the Western Conference. Jokic finished the season just missing averaging a triple double by .2 of an assist while ranking in the top 20 in scoring, rebounds, and assists. Jokic finished the year averaging 24.5 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game, and 9.8 assists per game.
4. Jayson Tatum
Team: Boston Celtics
Previous Ranking: #4
Still considered one of the top young players in the NBA despite being a promising young NBA star back during the 2017 NBA Draft, Jayson Tatum continues to mature into a leader for the Boston Celtics.
After coming up just short of an NBA title last season, Tatum along with teammate Jaylen Brown helped push the Celtics to the second-best record in the NBA.
The 25-year-old former star Duke Blue Devils star posted career highs in scoring (30.1), rebounds (8.8), and assists (4.6). When the season ended Tatum finished ranked sixth in scoring, 23rd in rebounding and 41st in assists among all NBA players.
3. Luka Doncic
Team: Dallas Mavericks

One of the best all around players in the NBA, Luka Doncic has the ability to do nearly anything on the floor on both ends of the floor. Doncic who is one of the faces of the NBA finished the season ranked second in scoring after averaging 32.4 points per game this season.
In addition to scoring Doncic is one of the best all around passers while having the ability to run the Dallas Mavericks offense as well as any other point guard can run their own offense.
In addition to the 32.4 points per game Doncic averaged 8.6 rebounds and eight assists per game while recording 36 double doubles and 10 triple doubles on the season.
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo
Team: Milwaukee Bucks
Previous Ranking: #3
The 28-year-old former first round pick during the 2013 NBA Draft continues his dominance as one of the best players in the NBA while leading the Milwaukee Bucks to the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was one of six players in the NBA to average at least 30 points per game while finishing the season averaging 31.1 points per game.
While earning the nickname of the Greek Freak, Antetokounmpo is a freak on both ends of the floor while nearly being unstoppable with the basketball in his hands. The Bucks superstar finished the season ranked fifth in scoring (31.1), third in rebounding (11.8), and 28th in assists (5.7).
1. Joel Embiid
Team: Philadelphia 76ers

In at number one on the Top 10 NBA Players 2023 rankings list is the Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid. Embiid, who is in line to take home his first NBA MVP finished the 2022-23 NBA season leading the NBA in scoring for the second straight season while averaging 33.1 points per game.
The 76ers big man helped lead the team to a top three finish in the Eastern Conference while also averaging 10.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
Meanwhile on the defensive end of the floor Embiid is strong while averaging 1.7 blocked shots per game to go along with one steal per game.
