Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings
Here are the NFL Fantasy Rankings for Week 9 of the 2022-2023 NFL Season
The 2022 NFL season continues to roll along as week 8 is in the books and the schedule rolls into Week 9. As we start to look at the ahead to Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule, the schedule looks to deliver an exciting lineup of games taking to the gridiron.
A lineup of football games that offers a wide range of fantasy football options to start including for DFS owners looking to build daily fantasy football lineups for Week 9.
As you look at the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings, the options are endless and this cheat sheet should help.
One name to consider looking at when building your Week 9 NFL DFS lineup is the Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders. While Sanders will not be around for Sunday Lineups, he is available for DFS matchups getting underway on Thursday Night Football.
As Sanders headlines the top DFS options for week 9, other fantasy football options to consider in our analysis includes Aaron Jones of the Green Bay Packers, Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, as well as Kadarius Toney as s fantasy sleeper option. Here is a look at the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players Rankings Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule:
Honorable Mention
Kadarius Toney
Team: Kansas City Chiefs
Position: Wide Receiver
Week 9 Matchup: Tennessee Titans
Just missing the Top 10 2022 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings list is the newly acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
Toney, who the Kansas City Chiefs acquired before the NFL Trade Deadline, is an interesting speedy option at the wide receiver position.
Add that with the fact he is playing with one of the top fantasy quarterbacks in the game as well as with a solid matchup in Week 9, Toney is a sleeper play to consider but monitor his status as he has dealt with injuries since Week 2.
Trevor Lawrence
Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
Position: Quarterback
Week 9 Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders
Yes, you are reading that correctly. Trevor Lawrence is a nice fantasy option at the quarterback position but geared to DFS owners looking for a high-risk high reward type of option.
Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars take on a Las Vegas Raiders team that has struggled for most of the 2022 NFL season.
Entering play during Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season, the Raiders defense ranks 1st in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.
While the Jaguars quarterback has struggled at times this season, his ability to make plays happen makes him an interesting option while providing some salary cap space to load up on premier position players.
Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings
10. Will Dissly
Team: Seattle Seahawks
Position: Tight End
Week 9 Matchup: Arizona Cardinals
In at number 10 on the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings list is the Seattle Seahawks tight end Will Dissly.
While Dissly won’t rank up there with the top tight end matchups of the week such as Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews if healthy, he is a solid option who should provide salary cap flexibility for DFS owners while also having a chance to turn in a big game.
Dissly has a solid matchup against an Arizona Cardinals defense that ranks 2nd in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends trailing on the Seattle Seahawks.
In addition, the Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz is another interesting option at the tight end position.
9. Patrick Mahomes
Team: Kansas City Chiefs
Position: Quarterback
Week 9 Matchup: Tennessee Titans
The Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback is nearly a must start option week in and week out at the quarterback position.
Entering Week 9, you have to love the matchup the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes have going up against the Tennessee Titans.
As some DFS owners might look past Mahomes as the Titans have been stingy allowing fewer than 21 points in five games, the Chiefs quarterback has been in a groove for most of the season.
Mahomes has racked up at least 300 plus yards in three games this season, while also throwing for at least two touchdowns in all but one game.
8. Joshua Palmer / Deandre Carter
Team: Los Angeles Chargers
Position: Wide Receiver
Week 9 Matchup: Atlanta Falcons
Joshua Palmer and Deandre Carter might not be the big flashy names you are looking for in DFS formats, but they are solid fantasy sleeper and/or DFS budget options that have a great matchup entering Week 9 of the NFL Schedule 2022.
While we lean towards Palmer over Carter heading into the week, injury status may change that as Palmer missed the week 7 matchup with a concussion.
Now that said if Palmer is a go with Mike Williams out, the receiver had at least six targets in four of the previous five games before being ruled out.
Meanwhile Carter is still an interesting option as well as the team looks to find options for Williams. The tandem should have a shot to make some plays against an Atlanta Falcons defense that ranks 1st against fantasy points allowed to wide receivers and 2nd in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.
7. Isaiah Likely
Team: Baltimore Ravens
Position: Tight End
Week 9 Matchup: New Orleans Saints
No matter the injury status of Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely is a tight end to consider in Week 9 as the Baltimore Ravens travel to take on the New Orleans Saints.
Likely who impressed during the preseason has played second fiddle to Andrews for most of the season but had a chance to shine with Andrews leaving the teams Week 8 win.
Add his performance in Week 8 and the love Lamar Jackson has for his tight end, look for Likely to be more involved moving forward.
If Andrews is ruled out for Week 9, Likely moves up to a tier 1 DFS fantasy play for owners against the Saints.
6. Raheem Mostert
Team: Miami Dolphins
Position: Running Back
Week 9 Matchup: Chicago Bears
Nothing seems to be going right for the Chicago Bears and now the team traded star linebacker Roquan Smith to the Baltimore Ravens.
Add in the team being scorched for 200 yards and four rushing touchdowns in Week 8 including 131 yards and three rushing touchdowns to Tony Pollard, opposing offenses will look to pound the ground against them.
In week 9, the Miami Dolphins which has a primetime passing attack should be able to open up running lanes for Raheem Mostert as the Bears will look to slow down Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
5. Tyler Allgeier
Team: Atlanta Falcons
Position: Running Back
Week 9 Matchup: Los Angeles Chargers
Rounding out the top five fantasy options on the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings list is the Atlanta Falcons Tyler Allgeier.
While Allgeier isn’t as versatile as Cordarrelle Patterson, he does present a speedy running back option that can also play a role in the team’s passing attack as we saw in Week 8.
In Week 9, Allgeier will have a strong fantasy football play against a Los Angeles Chargers team that ranks 3rd in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs.
4. Chris Olave
Team: New Orleans Saints
Position: Wide Receiver
Week 9 Matchup: Baltimore Ravens
While the Baltimore Ravens picked up a key win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Week 8, the team at times allowed the Bucs receivers to make plays including picking up a ton of yards after catch numbers.
In Week 9 Chris Olave is one of those solid wide receiver fantasy options that could help offset the salary cap numbers of receivers such as Tyreek Hill and/or Stefon Diggs.
The New Orleans Saints receiver has had at least six targets in six of seven games this season while pulling in at least three catches for 41 yards in all seven games he has played.
3. Aaron Jones
Team: Green Bay Packers
Position: Running Back
Week 9 Matchup: Detroit Lions
The Green Bay Packers just can’t find a way to get it rolling in the right direction but that won’t slow down their potential in a divisional showdown against the Detroit Lions.
The same Lions team that has ranked 2nd in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to running backs as well as the most rushing touchdowns.
Jones enters week 9 ranked 5th in the NFL in rushing yards with 575 while averaging 5.9 yards per carry.
2. Justin Herbert
Team: Los Angeles Chargers
Position: Quarterback
Week 9 Matchup: Atlanta Falcons
It is hard to imagine the Los Angeles Chargers coming out looking to take apart the Atlanta Falcons team that struggled to stop the pass for most of the season.
This includes allowing P.J. Walker threw for 317 yards in the team’s Week 8 win against the Carolina Panthers.
While Herbert will be without Mike Williams, he should have enough weapons including Austin Ekeler to take advantage of the Falcons defense.
Herbert has thrown for 2,009 yards with 12 touchdowns to just four interceptions through his first seven games of the season.
1. Miles Sanders
Team: Philadelphia Eagles
Position: Running Back
Week 9 Matchup: Houston Texans
In at number one on the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings list is the Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders.
Sanders has a primetime matchup on Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime against a Houston Texans team that ranks 1st in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to the position.
The Texans have allowed 219 yards to Derrick Henry, 143 yards to Josh Jacobs, 157 yards to Khalil Herbert, and 161 yards to Jonathan Taylor.
While Sanders won’t help for the weekend, he will provide a top tier fantasy option for DFS action starting on Thursday.
