The NFL Schedule rolls into week 8 as the 2022 fantasy football action continues to heat up on the gridiron.

After an interesting week 7 that saw some unexpected performances both good and bad, the Week 8 NFL schedule delivers a few solid fantasy matchups for fantasy owners looking to build Daily Fantasy Football lineups.

As DFS football owners look to find the best matchups, Week 8 delivers some solid budget fantasy plays as well as top tier fantasy players to start.

Leading the list as the Top DFS Fantasy Football play for Week 8 of the NFL season is Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans.

As Henry has a great matchup against the Houston Texans, the Titans running back currently ranks in the Top 5 in both total rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

In addition to Henry, other running back options to consider include Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants and Joe Mixon of the Cincinnati Bengals.

One solid budget fantasy option to consider is either Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton at quarterback depending on how it shakes out. Here is a look at the Top 10 Fantasy Football Rankings Week 8 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings:

Honorable Mention

Irv Smith Jr.

Team: Minnesota Vikings

Position: Tight End
Week 8 Matchup: Arizona Cardinals

Just missing the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 8 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings is the Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr.

The Vikings tight end provides some salary cap flexibility at a position that has no real top tier options in Week 8.

Smith Jr has a strong fantasy matchup against an Arizona Cardinals defense that ranks 3rd in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends including a league high six touchdown receptions.

Jameis Winston / Andy Dalton

Team: New Orleans Saints

Position: Quarterback
Week 8 Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders

While the long list of solid fantasy options at the quarterback position, a solid budget DFS fantasy play is either Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton of the New Orleans Saints.

While you have to wait to see who gets the start, one of those two quarterbacks will get a shot at a Las Vegas Raiders defense that has struggled in stopping down opposing quarterbacks.

On the year, the Raiders have allowed a combined 16 total touchdowns. In addition to these two options, PJ Walker of the Carolina Panthers is nice Week 8 fantasy sleeper for DFS owners looking for salary cap flexibility.

Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings

10. D’onta Foreman

Team: Carolina Panthers

Position: Running Back
Week 8 Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders

In at number 10 on the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 8 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings list is the Carolina Panthers running back D’onta Foreman.

While the Panthers will look to use a split backfield with Christian McCaffrey gone, we still like the matchup Foreman has in Week 8 against a struggling Las Vegas Raiders defense.

Foreman combined for 145 total yards from the line of scrimmage while taking advantage of a solid Tampa Bay Buccaneers run defense.

9. Brandin Cooks

Team: Houston Texans

Position: Wide Receiver
Week 8 Matchup: Tennessee Titans

When you are looking for fantasy matchups at wide receiver outside of a few of the top tier options such as Davante Adams, Mike Evans, and Tyreek Hill, matchups play a key role in filling the spot.

That said, the Houston Texans wide receiver is in a prime matchup against a Tennessee Titans defense that has allowed 1,201 receiving and nine touchdown receptions to the position over the first seven weeks of the 2022 NFL schedule.

As Cooks may be playing his last contest with the team, he could be in line for an audition as the Texans look to increase his fantasy option leading into the 2022 NFL Trade deadline.

8. Kirk Cousins

Team: Minnesota Vikings

Position: Quarterback
Week 8 Matchup: Arizona Cardinals

The 2022 NFL schedule has been an interesting one all across the league as we have seen proven starters struggle to be consistent.

One of those players who has been inconsistent for fantasy owners has been Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings. Cousins has thrown for two touchdowns in three different games this season, however, has thrown at least one interception with only one touchdown in the other three contests.

In week 8, Cousins and the Vikings will take on an Arizona Cardinals defense that ranks 5th among teams in play in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks entering their showdown against the Vikings.

7. Saquon Barkley

Team: New York Giants

Position: Running Back
Week 8 Matchup: Seattle Seahawks

Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants continues to be a prime time fantasy football threat at the running back each week. As the Giants continue to win football games, the Giants running back continues to be a primary player in the team’s offense.

Barkley has rushed for at least 110 yards in three contests this season, while topping the 100 total yard mark in two additional contests while playing a key role in the team’s passing attack.

On the year Barkley has combined for 906 total yards of offense to go with four touchdowns. Barkley will face off against a Seattle Seahawks defense that has struggled against running backs who can play a key role in the passing attack as well as running attack.

6. Davante Adams

Team: Las Vegas Raiders

Position: Wide Receiver
Week 8 Matchup: New Orleans Saints

Depending on who you like and what NFL players you elect to start to build your fantasy football lineup around, Davante Adams is a great fantasy play at the wide receiver position in Week 8.

Adams and the Las Vegas Raiders will look to get back on track against a New Orleans Saints team that ranks 2nd in the NFL in points allowed (28.6) per game.

The Raiders wide receiver will be going up against a Saints defense that has allowed 1,271 receiving yards and eight touchdown receptions to wide receivers.

5. Tua Tagovailoa

Team: Miami Dolphins

Position: Quarterback
Week 8 Matchup: Detroit Lions

Before the back-to-back weeks of head injuries, the Miami Dolphins offense led by Tua Tagovailoa was rolling along. Now with Tagovailoa back in at quarterback the team is looking to get rolling again as they compete in the AFC conference.

With that said, the Dolphins quarterback as well as his receiving corps of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are all solid options as well as a nice fantasy football stack option against the Detroit Lions in week 8.

Entering play in Week 8, the Lions have allowed nine passing touchdowns to just two interceptions while also allowing two rushing touchdowns to start the season.

4. DJ Moore

Team: Carolina Panthers

Position: Wide Receiver
Week 8 Matchup: Atlanta Falcons

The Carolina Panthers crafty and speedy wide receiver continues to be a solid fantasy wide receiver option for fantasy owners despite the lack of consistent offense in Carolina.

Entering play during Week 8 of the NFL season, Moore has pulled in 27 catches for 273 yards with two touchdowns while not having a reliable option under center.

That said, Moore and PJ Walker built chemistry last week and will look to continue that against an Atlanta Falcons defense that was shredded by the Cincinnati Bengals last week.

A Moore/Walker stack could provide additional flexibility to load up on a few other top tier week 8 fantasy football studs.

3. Tom Brady

Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Position: Quarterback
Week 8 Matchup: Baltimore Ravens

In at number three on the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players to Start Week 8 of the 2022 NFL Schedule rankings is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

While Brady and the Buccaneers have struggled, the team can get back on track in a short week at home against a Baltimore Ravens defense that has issues at stopping both the run and big passing plays.

The Ravens defense has allowed the 4th most passing yards (1960) in the NFL through the first seven weeks to go along with 11 passing touchdowns.

While the defense has recorded eight interceptions, big plays should be available in this Thursday Night Football showdown on Amazon Prime.

2. Joe Mixon

Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Position: Running Back
Week 8 Matchup: Cleveland Browns

When it comes to the top two fantasy football options for Week 8 of the 2022 NFL schedule, Joe Mixon and Derrick Henry are both strong options to consider.

In the end Mixon lands at number two despite his Cincinnati Bengals offense returning to top tier form entering their matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

A Browns defense that has allowed a league high 12 total touchdowns to opposing running backs to go along with 786 rushing yards through the start of the season.

1. Derrick Henry

Team: Tennessee Titans

Position: Running Back
Week 8 Matchup: Houston Texans

As the list of top fantasy matchups is strong in Week 8, Derrick Henry lands as the top fantasy play for DFS owners as they begin to build their DFS lineups.

After a slow start to the season, Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans offense is rolling along over the past three weeks. Henry has rushed for 344 rushing yards to go along with three rushing touchdowns in the teams three wins.

Henry has a strong fantasy matchup against a Houston Texans defense that allowed the most fantasy points to running backs on the season.
