Top 10 Best Teams in the NFL Right Now Week 4
The weather continues to change as colder air arrives and warmer air leaves the country. With this temperature change the action on the gridiron continues to heat up including around the NFL as the season rolls into Week 4. Over the first three weeks of the regular season the action has been as exciting if not more exciting as any the past few football seasons. As you start to look around at the best teams in football to start, three teams currently stand out above the rest while all making strong cases to take home the top spot among the Top 10 Best NFL Teams 2023-2024 Rankings Week 4.
Those three teams include the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Francisco 49ers. Each of these teams have started the season winning three straight. This is while climbing out to the tops of their respective divisions.
While all three teams have been exciting it is hard not to look at the Dolphins as the top team in the NFL at this point as they sit atop the AFC East while coming off a win where the team posted 70 points. Rounding out the Top 5 NFL teams entering week 4 includes the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs who both sit at 2-1 on the season.

The Browns who enter week 4 of the 2023 NFL season sitting tied in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers have been brilliant on the defensive side of the ball. They’ve allowed just 163.7 yards per game and 10.7 points per game.
Currently the Browns lead the NFL in both statistics as they look to host a very good Baltimore Ravens in week 3. Despite losing Nick Chubb for the season, DeShaun Watson has returned to better form while taking control of the team’s offense.

Another team just missing the top 10 Best NFL teams list is the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are coming off back to back wins including an impressive 22-19 win last week.
They shut down the Baltimore Ravens offense for the last three quarters as well as during the overtime period. Despite not having rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, the Colts offense did just enough against the depleted Ravens defense while kicker Matt Guy kicked a record four 50 plus yard field goals to help secure the win.
The Colts have protected the ball on the offensive side of the football while turning it over just three times over their first three games of the season with all three coming in their opening loss of the season.

The Steelers have an opportunity to move to 3-1 as they make the Trip to Houston to take on the Texans during Week 4 of the 2023 NFL season.
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 4: NFL Matchup: @ New Orleans Saints (2-1)

7. Buffalo Bills
Week 4 NFL Matchup: Miami Dolphins (3-0)
Previous Ranking: Unranked
Record: 2-1
After a stunning loss to the New York Jets to open up the season after the Jets lost All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Buffalo Bills have rebounded winning back to back games while scoring at least 37 points in each game and allowing just 13 total points over that stretch.
The Bills have seen strong production on both sides of the ball. This includes James Cook who has posted 267 yards on the ground while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Also, Stefon Diggs who has posted 279 receiving yards and a touchdown.

6. Detroit Lions
Week 4 NFL Matchup: @ Green Bay Packers (2-1)
Previous Ranking: Unranked
Record: 2-1
After just missing the 2022 NFL Playoffs, the Detroit Lions look like a team that can keep up in the NFC all season while competing for the NFC North title.
As the list of Top 10 Best NFL teams continues to shuffle each week, the Lions have an opportunity to solidify themselves as one of the teams to beat in the NFC in week 4 against division rivals the Green Bay Packers.
The Lions opened up the season with an impressive 21-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Their only loss came at the hands of a strong Seattle Seahawks team sitting at 2-1 on season. Add to that success the Lions handed the Atlanta Falcons their first loss of the season last week to push their own record to 2-1 on the season.
5. Dallas Cowboys
Week 4 NFL Matchup: New England Patriots (1-2)
Previous Ranking: 2
Record: 2-1
Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NFL Teams 2023-2024 Rankings Week 4 is the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys, who had looked like one of the best teams in the NFL in each of the first two weeks of the season, just couldn’t get anything going last weekend.
They lost to an Arizona Cardinals team expected to struggle for most of the 2023 NFL season. Nonetheless the Cowboys roster is still loaded with playmakers on both sides of the ball while Micah Parsons continues to play as one of the best players in the NFL on either the offensive or defensive side of the football.
Entering week 4 the Cowboys currently rank 5th in the NFL in scoring while averaging 28.7 points per game and 354.3 yards per game.
4. Kansas City Chiefs
Week 4 NFL Matchup: @ New York Jets (1-2)

After an opening loss to open up the year against the Detroit Lions, the Kansas City Chiefs team is rolling along while also garnering national attention. The latest attention coming to the team came during week 3 with the attendance of Taylor Swift in the press box.
The Chiefs didn’t disappoint as they posted a 41-10 win over the Bears to push their season record to 2-1 on the year. A team built around their offense and All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes has relied more on their defense to open up the 2023 NFL season. The Chiefs defense entered week 4 allowing just 13.3 points per game and 280.7 yards of total offense.
Meanwhile the Chiefs offense has gotten back on track with the return of Travis Kelce to the lineup who missed the team’s opening loss to the Lions. The Chiefs will head to New York to take on a strong defensive minded Jets team this weekend.
3. San Francisco 49ers
Week 4 NFL Matchup: Arizona Cardinals (1-2)
Previous Ranking: 3
Record: 3-0
As you start to look at the three best teams in the NFL each are well worth mentioning as teams worthy of the top overall spot. Nonetheless only an NFL team can land at the top while the San Francisco 49ers take home the third spot.
The 49ers are an early season favorite to compete for the NFC Championship as well as a chance to head to the Super Bowl. After trading for Christian McCaffrey last season, the 49ers offense is as well rounded as any in the NFL.
With Brock Purdy protecting the football and finding open receivers, McCaffrey and other stars including Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk creating mismatches in the passing game.
On the defensive side of the football the 49ers are allowing just 14 points per game to go along with just 258.3 total yards of offense over their first three NFL games of the season.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Week 4 NFL Matchup: Washington Commanders (2-1)
Previous Ranking: 1
Record: 3-0
After holding onto the top spot over the past few weeks the Philadelphia Eagles slide to number two despite being tied for the most wins (3) to open up the season.
The Eagles who have yet to lose have found ways to win in each of their first three games. This is while struggling on both sides of the football at times in each win. Nonetheless the Eagles have one of the best constructed NFL rosters in the league while seeing production out of a long list of players on both sides of the football.
This includes off-season acquisition D’Andre Swift who has gotten off to a fast start. He’s rushed for 308 yards on 45 carries to go along with one rushing touchdown.

1. Miami Dolphins
Week 4 NFL Matchup: @ Buffalo Bills (2-1)
Previous Ranking: 4
Record: 3-0
After laying 70 points on the board last week the Miami Dolphins have climbed up the rankings board while taking over the top spot among the best teams in the NFL.
The Dolphins have been brilliant on the offensive side of the ball. This is while doing things no other team has done in the history of the NFL to open the season. Headlining their offense attack has been the quarterback/wide receiver duo of Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill.
Tagovailoa currently ranks second in the NFL with 1,024 passing yards while Hill ranks second in the NFL with 412 receiving yards. As an entire unit the Dolphins offense has been unstoppable.
