Top 10 MLB Betting Trends (June 2026): Predictions, Odds & Market Mistakes
Stay ahead in MLB betting with our trends and predictions. Identify odds and market mistakes to improve your bets.
We are full months into the 2026 MLB season, and already, a lot of what the books projected in March looks like a bad dream.
The Atlanta Braves, who finished 76-86 last year and missed the playoffs entirely, are running away with the best record in baseball at 42-21. The Los Angeles Dodgers, who won back-to-back World Series titles, are somehow being undervalued despite sitting at 40-23 with Shohei Ohtani pitching like a man possessed. The Tampa Bay Rays, a team carrying a sub-$100 million payroll, have the best record in the American League. And a 24-year-old pitcher from Milwaukee named Jacob Misiorowski is making Cy Young voters rethink everything they thought they knew about strikeouts.
The betting market saw some of this coming. Most of it, it did not. And the lines heading into June are still trying to reconcile two months of baseball that shattered almost every preseason assumption.
Here are the Top 10 MLB Betting Trends, Predictions, Odds & Market Mistakes that matter most right now.
Honorable Mention
The Mets Are a Disaster Except When Juan Soto is Batting. And That’s the Trap
Start here because this sets the tone for a June market that is about to get very dangerous for recreational bettors.
Juan Soto has been one of the most dominant offensive players in baseball over the last three weeks. Since May 14, he has been reaching base in virtually every game, hitting .382 with nine home runs in that stretch. He hit a grand slam to cap a 10-1 demolition of the Marlins. He is playing like the guy who earned the largest contract in baseball history, and when he is locked in, the Mets look genuinely dangerous.
The problem? The rest of the lineup is nowhere near him. New York is 22-19 in games Soto has started. In games where he has a big day, the Mets still find ways to lose. He has a 1.162 OPS in losses. That is not a typo. The man is carrying a broken team on his back, and the team is still losing.
The betting trap here is obvious. Soto goes on a four-game tear, the Mets sweep the Marlins, and suddenly the public starts betting New York like they figured something out. They have not.
Francisco Lindor, Francisco Alvarez, and Jorge Polanco are all working their way back from injury. Until that lineup gets healthy around Soto, the Mets are a fading machine. Bet the Mets moneyline right now at your own risk.
Top 10 MLB Betting Trends (June 2026)
10. The Tampa Bay Rays Have the Best Record in the AL, and Nobody Is Betting Them

Tampa Bay is 36-23 heading into June and sits atop the American League. They are one of only three teams in baseball carrying a sub-$100 million payroll in the top ten alongside the Cardinals and the Guardians, and they are doing it with elite pitching development and disciplined, fundamental baseball.
Shane McClanahan, Drew Rasmussen, and Nick Martinez anchor a rotation that consistently keeps games close. Junior Caminero and Yandy Díaz are producing at the top of the lineup. This is a legitimate contender, not a hot-weather mirage.
And yet, at BetMGM, the Rays are 22nd in ticket count and 16th in money for World Series futures. Twenty-second. A team with the best record in the American League is drawing less betting interest than franchises sitting ten games below .500.
That kind of market inefficiency is what separates sharp bettors from the public. The sharp side already knows what Tampa has been doing all season. The recreational money still has not caught up. If you are looking for World Series futures value before the odds tighten in July, the Rays deserve a serious look.
9. The Dodgers Are the Second-Best Team in Baseball and Still Getting Underplayed on the Moneyline
Los Angeles is 40-23 with the second-best record in baseball, and their World Series odds have tightened from +350 at the start of the season all the way to +190. That is a massive move. The public has been piling on all year.
The part the books have not fully priced in yet is what Shohei Ohtani is doing on the mound in 2026. He pitched to a 0.97 ERA through his first several starts of the season. He is posting an OPS against of .447. He won NL Pitcher of the Month. The man is not just good, he is operating in a tier that does not exist for most pitchers, and he is doing it while still hitting in the lineup on days he does not pitch.
The Dodgers have lost only three series all season. Three. A team with that kind of consistency at the series level covers spreads at a significantly higher rate than the lines reflect, because oddsmakers are always hedging against the upset game. When Los Angeles is a road underdog which happens, even for them. That number is almost always wrong.
8. Atlanta is the Best Team in Baseball and Still Paying +900 for the World Series

The Braves are 42-21. That is the best record in all of baseball. Ronald Acuña Jr. homered in four consecutive games heading into early June, his longest streak since his Rookie of the Year campaign in 2018. Bryce Elder is pitching with a 2.50 ERA and has emerged as one of the most improved arms in the sport. The lineup has been healthy. The rotation has been deep.
And yet the Braves are +900 for the World Series. For comparison, the Dodgers are +190. That is almost five times shorter odds for a team that currently has a worse record.
Part of this is market behavior. Bettors gravitate toward names they know, and the Dodgers carry that weight. Atlanta opened the season at +2000 after missing the playoffs last year, and while the odds have moved significantly, they have not moved nearly enough relative to what this team has actually done.
At +900, you are essentially getting the best team in baseball at what should be a mid-tier price. That gap does not last forever, but right now, the Braves are the most undervalued team on the futures board.
7. Boston’s Run Line Has Been One of the Most Reliable Bets in the League
Here is a trend that has been printing money quietly while everyone is watching Ohtani and Soto hog the headlines. The Boston Red Sox are 14-4-2 in their last 20 road games on the run line. That is not a small number. That is a sustained, verifiable pattern across a significant sample size that the books still have not fully adjusted for.
Run line betting in baseball operates differently from point spreads in football or basketball. The -1.5 line in baseball requires you to win by two, and the market often underestimates teams that play consistent, high-scoring baseball on the road. Boston’s offense does not disappear when they leave Fenway. Their lineup produces regardless of venue, and the run line has been paying accordingly.
Before you see this and assume the window has closed, check the current schedule. The Red Sox are playing in a stretch of games that sets up favorably. Do the research on the opposing starting pitching, and if the matchup holds up, the Boston road run line has been one of the most reliable tickets in the game this month.
6. The San Diego Padres’ Home Unders Are a Legitimate Edge Right Now
Six straight Padres home games have gone under the total. That is a 94% ROI on a sustained trend, not a one-night anomaly. When a pitching-driven team plays in a spacious ballpark with consistent weather patterns, the unders tend to run in cycles, and Petco Park has been operating in full suppression mode for nearly two weeks.
The Padres’ pitching staff is built around generating weak contact and limiting traffic. Their home park plays big enough that even average contact does not leave the yard. When the opposing offense is not a premium run-producing lineup, and several teams on their upcoming schedule are not, the recipe for another under is right there on the table.
The caveat, as always with totals betting, is that this kind of streak ends eventually, and it ends without warning. Do not blindly tail every Padres home under without looking at the individual matchup. But as a starting point for your research, a team that has cashed the under six consecutive times at home is giving you a shortcut that most recreational bettors will ignore.
5. Jacob Misiorowski is the Most Important Bet on the NL Cy Young Board
This is the story of the 2026 National League pitching race, and it is not close.
Misiorowski is 24 years old, in his second full season with Milwaukee, and pitching like someone who was born specifically to make hitters look foolish. Through his first 11 starts of 2026, he posted a 1.83 ERA, a 1.89 FIP, and 2.6 fWAR.
He leads all of Major League Baseball in strikeouts. His strikeout rate of 39.6 percent would be the second-highest mark in the last decade, trailing only Gerrit Cole’s 2019 season. The Brewers won every single game he started in May.
He did not win NL Pitcher of the Month despite all of that, which should tell you something about how stacked this race is. Cristopher Sánchez of Philadelphia took the award instead, after posting a 1.47 ERA and a franchise-record consecutive scoreless innings streak. And then there is Ohtani, sitting at a 0.82 ERA with an OPS against of .447, who is simultaneously hitting while doing all of this.
The NL Cy Young is shaping up to be one of the best award races in years. For betting purposes, Misiorowski at any number above +300 represents real value. If Sánchez or Ohtani stumbles, and over a full season, one of them probably will, Misiorowski is right there to inherit the race. He is already the one name in that conversation you can bet without feeling like you are paying a premium for narrative.
4. The Pittsburgh Pirates Games Are Going Over at an Unsustainable Rate

Games involving the Pittsburgh Pirates have gone over the total in eight consecutive games. That is a 90% ROI and enough of a sample to pay attention to, even if the underlying reasons are not particularly flattering to Pittsburgh.
The Pirates do not have a dominant pitching staff. Their rotation is serviceable at best, and their bullpen has been giving up late runs at a rate that keeps pushing game totals into over territory. When a bad team plays bad baseball, it often shows up in high-scoring games because neither their starters nor their opponents’ offense has much to hold back.
The key number for this one is 8.5 runs total. When Pittsburgh is in a game with a total set at or below that number, and the matchup features a moderately capable opposing offense, the over has been paying consistently. This trend will not last the rest of the season, but June is the right time to be watching it closely.
3. The Cleveland Guardians Are Quietly One of the Most Valuable Moneyline Bets in Baseball

Cleveland is 9-1 in their last 10 road games. Nine and one. They are pulling away in what is admittedly a weak division, but sustained road success at that level is not divisional weakness that is a team that knows how to win baseball games away from home.
The Guardians are one of three low-payroll teams in the top tier of baseball this season, and the market chronically undervalues them because of it. When Cleveland plays on the road, the lines tend to show them as slight underdogs or near-even money because the public is not loading up on a mid-market team. That creates moneyline value every time they travel.
Their ATS numbers have been consistent all season. They are not doing this on luck. The pitching is real, the lineup is disciplined, and the road success over ten games is the kind of trend that sharp money notices immediately. Cleveland is not winning the World Series, probably. But at plus money in road spots, they have been the most quietly profitable moneyline play in the American League for the past three weeks.
2. The Baltimore Orioles Team Total Over Is One of the Hottest Bets on the Board

The Orioles have gone over their team total eight times in their last ten games. That is a 46% ROI over a meaningful sample, and the reason is straightforward once you watch their lineup for one series.
Baltimore is one of those teams that was supposed to have an awful start this season, and while the overall record is not spectacular, the offense has been generating runs at a rate the books have not fully adjusted to. Their team’s total line of 4.5 runs — set at -140, has been hitting at a rate that makes the juice worth paying.
The caveat here is the juice. Minus-140 on a team total means you are paying a premium, and one bad pitching matchup can erase the value instantly. Do not bet this number blind.
But when Baltimore faces a starting pitcher with an ERA above 4.50 and no platoon advantage against their lineup, the over at 4.5 runs has been one of the most consistent tickets in baseball this month. Find the right matchup, and this number is worth laying the juice.
1. Stop Paying Minus Money on the Dodgers to Win the World Series. The Board Is Showing You Where the Value Actually Lives
Los Angeles is +190 and tightening every week. The public has made them the most-backed team in baseball by ticket count and by far the biggest handle at BetMGM. And look — the Dodgers are genuinely great. Ohtani is historic. The lineup is deep. They have won two straight championships.
But baseball history is clear on what happens to heavy favorites in October. Seven World Series champions in the last seven years, with zero repeat winners in that span until the Dodgers finally broke the streak in 2025. Every year, a team like the 2026 Braves or the 2026 Rays shows up and makes the favorite look beatable. That is not pessimism. That is pattern recognition.
The best value on the board right now is not at the top. It is in the middle. Atlanta at +900 with the best record in baseball and Ronald Acuña playing some of the best baseball of his career. Tampa Bay at whatever number they are paying before July, when the public finally notices the AL standings. Milwaukee at whatever number reflects Misiorowski’s Cy Young case and the Brewers’ best month of baseball in years.
You are not getting rich betting the Dodgers at +190. You are paying full price for a team that has already been priced for greatness. The edges in MLB betting have always lived one tier below the consensus favorites, on the teams that are proving themselves every day while the money flows somewhere else.
The standings are tightening. The Cy Young race is wide open. The underdog moneylines are hitting. The next two months will separate the bettors who chased the names from the ones who followed the numbers. Make sure you are on the right side.
