Landing just outside of the Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Rankings Preview list is the Ohio State Buckeyes women’s basketball program.

The Buckeyes are fresh off a deep run during the 2022 National Championship, losing in the Sweet Sixteen to the Texas Longhorns.

Nonetheless, the Buckeyes are loaded with talent led by All-Big Ten preseason selections Taylor Mikesell and Jacy Sheldon.

The tandem averaged 38.3 points per game last year to go along with 7.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 2.8 steals per game.

The team will have an up-hill battle in a loaded Big Ten conference featuring the Iowa Hawkeyes, Indiana Hoosiers, Maryland Lady Terps, Michigan Wolverines, and Nebraska Cornhuskers all ranked inside the AP Top 25 rankings heading into the season.

Indiana Hoosiers

College Basketball Betting Odds: +4000

Conference: Big Ten

A second Big Ten Women’s Basketball team to just miss entering the Top 10 Women’s Basketball rankings is the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers are led by senior guard Grace Berger and senior forward Mackenzie Holmes. The tandem combined to average 31.4 points per game to go along with 13.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.9 blocked shots per game last season.

While the team lost a ton of fire power from last season’s team including a trio of seniors who combined to average 35 points per game, the team also added some solid fire power with the transfer acquisition of Sara Scalia from the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The trio of Scalia, Holmes and Berger delivers a core group of talent to the Hoosiers.

College Basketball Betting Odds: +2500

Conference: ACC

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Rankings Preview list is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The Fightin Irish who finished last season third within the ACC with an 13-5 conference record and an overall 24-9 record, are looking to take home the ACC Championship this season.

The team is led by Olivia Miles, Lauren Ebo, and Maddy Westbeld who all land on Award watch lists heading into the upcoming season.

Miles is coming off a strong season last year finishing with a team high 13.7 points per game while also adding 5.7 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per contests.

Miles finds her name on the Pre-Season All-American watch list and the Nancy Lieberman award list. Westbeld will look to build on her postseason performance last season and transfer Ebo delivers another excellent threat to a roster that is built to compete.

9. UConn Huskies

College Basketball Betting Odds: +1200

Conference: Big East

As the UConn Huskies move to the future with the loss of All-American candidate Paige Bueckers on the roster, the team is still loaded with talent to compete in the Big East as well as make a run in the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskies are led by former Top 10 recruiting prospects Azzi Fudd and Caroline Ducharme who both enter their sophomore seasons looking to build on strong freshman campaigns.

In addition to those two stars, the Huskies also landed one of the top recruiting classes in the country featuring Ayanna Patterson and Isuneh Brady to help fill out the roster.

8. NC State Wolfpack

College Basketball Betting Odds: +4000

Conference: ACC

Coming off a disappointing double overtime loss to the UConn Huskies during the Women’s National Championship Elite 8, the NC State Wolfpack will look to make another deep run during the upcoming NCAA Women’s Basketball schedule.

Despite losing senior center and leader Elissa Cunane, the NC State Wolfpack will look to move on with another top tier recruiting class while also turning to other returning players for growth.

One of those players is guard Diamond Johnson who will look to build on her 10.8 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists performance from last season.

One of the new incoming stars and potential key player is Zoe Brown who should deliver the team a proven scoring threat and someone who can take over any game.

7. Louisville Cardinals

The team returns second leading scorer Rori Harmon to a deep roster of players despite the departure of leading scorer Aliya Matharu.

4. Tennessee Lady Volunteers

College Basketball Betting Odds: +800

Conference: SEC

Looking to build on their Sweet 16 bid during the 2022 NCAA Women’s National Championship, the Tennessee Lady Volunteers are set to make another deep run this season.

As the Volunteers rank near the top among the best teams within the SEC, the team is loaded with talent from top to bottom including four starters from last season's team.

Headlining the roster is senior guard Jordan Horston who was a key part of the team’s success during the regular last season before going down.

Horston is coming off averaging 16.2 points per game to go along with 9.4 rebounds and four assists over 23 games played. If the Volunteers can stay healthy, they will look to make a deep run this season.
