Gegard Mousasi

Promotion: Bellator

Gegard Mousasi is a Dutch MMA fighter and former kickboxer, currently competing in the middleweight division of Bellator. He is the former Beletor Middleweight champion and held the light heavyweight strikeforce title as well. He deserves an honorable mention on this list.




Kelvin Gastelum

Promotion: UFC

Kelvin Gastelum is a Mexican American fighter in the UFC middleweight division, who has a professional record of 16 wins 8 losses, and 1 no-contest. 




Nassourdine Imanov

Promotion: UFC

Nassourdine Imanov is also an incredible up-and-coming fighter from Russia, and he has a record of 12 wins and 3 losses. He is scheduled to fight Kelvin Gastelum in his next fight on 14th January.

10. Darren Till

Promotion: UFC

Darren Till is one of the biggest MMA stars to come out of England. He has a professional record of 18 wins and 4 losses. 

Till had an excellent start to his career, however, he has recently been going through a rough patch, losing 4 of his last 5 fights taking a hit on his UFC record. In his most recent fight, he lost to Derek Brunson via submission, and he is scheduled to fight Dricus Du Plessis on December 10th for his next fight.




9. Derek Brunson

Promotion: UFC

At number 9, we have to include Derek Brunson. The American fighter has a professional record of  23 wins and 8 losses. 

He has defeated some of the top-ranked fighters in the division, including Uriah Hall, Kevin Holland, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Darren Till. he was on a 5 fight-win streak before he lost to Jared Cannonier in his most recent fight. 

His next fight is scheduled against Jack Hermansson on December 3rd at UFC Fight Night.




8. Jack Hermansson

Promotion: UFC

Jack Hermansson is a Swedish-born Norwegian professional mixed martial artist. He has a professional MMA record of 23 wins and 7 losses. 

Jack Hermansson has won over some big names in the middleweight division including Gerald Meerschaert, David Branch, Ronaldo Souza, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Kelvin Gastelum. 

In his most recent fight, he defeated Chris Curtis and is scheduled to fight Derek Brunson in his next fight.




8. Sean Strickland

Promotion: UFC

At number 8, we have Sean Strickland. He is an  American MMA fighter and has a record of 25 and 4 Losses. 

Stickland has notable wins over Uriah Hall and JackHermansson. He went on an impressive 6 fight winning streak in the division, however, in his most recent fight, he lost to Alex Pereira. 

Strickland is scheduled to fight Jared Cannonier on December 17th.




7. Johnny Eblen

Title: Bellator Middleweight Champion

Johnny Eblen is an American Professional MMA fighter with an undefeated professional record of 12 wins and 0 losses. 

Eblen is the current Bellator middleweight world champion, and he won the title after defeating Gegard Mousasi in his most recent fight. 

Eblen also has a notable win over John Salter, and his next fight has not been announced yet.




6. Marvin Vettori

Promotion: UFC

Marvin Vitori is an Italian fighter and he has a professional MMA record of 18 wins, 6 losses, and 1 draw. 

Vettori has defeated some big names including Jack Hermansson, Kevin Holland, and Paulo Costa. He also challenged Adesanya for the title, however, he could not win. 

In his most recent fight, he lost to Robert Whitaker, and his next fight has not been announced yet.




5. Paulo Costa

Promotion: UFC

Paulo Costa is a professional fighter from Brazil, and he has a record of 14 wins and 2 losses. 

Costa has notable wins over Uriah Hall, and Yoel Romero. He also challenged Adesanya for the Middleweight title but lost the fight via TKO. 

In his most recent fight, he defeated Luke Rockhold and is scheduled to fight Robert Whitaker in February of next year at UFC 284.




4. Jared Cannonier

Jared Cannonier is a professional MMA fighter from Dallas, Texas, and he has a professional MMA record of 15 wins and 6 losses. 

Cannonier has some impressive wins in the UFC over talented fighters like Jack Hermansson, Anderson Silva, Kelvin Gastelum, and Derek Brunson as well. He also challenged Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title in his most recent fight

His next fight is scheduled against Sean Strickland for December 17th.




3. Robert Whittaker

Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker is one of the biggest MMA stars to come out of Australia, and he has a professional record of 24-6. 

Whitaker is the former UFC middleweight champion; he lost the title to Israel Adesanya. He has beaten some of the best fighters in the division including, Derek Brunson, Ronaldo Souza, Yoel Romero, Darren Till, Jared Cannonier, and Marvin Vettori. 

In his most recent fight, he defeated Marvin Vettori, and his next fight has not been announced yet.




2. Israel Adesanya

Promotion: UFC

Adesanya is a Nigerian-born professional mixed martial artist, a former kickboxer, and a boxer fighting out of New Zealand. He has a professional MMA record of 23 wins and 2 losses

He is the former UFC middleweight champion, an MMA Pound for Pound fighter, and defended the title five times before losing it to Alex Pereira in his most recent fight. 

Adesanya was winning the fight until the fifth round and was consistently out-striking Pereira. He also controlled Pereira on the ground. However, Pereira landed multiple heavy shots in the 5th round, and the referee stopped the fight, declaring Pereira the winner by TKO.

Title: UFC Middleweight Champion

Alex Pereira is a professional MMA fighter and former Kickboxer from Brazil, and he has a record of 7 wins and 1 loss. 

Pereira is the current UFC Champion at Middleweight. He won the title last weekend after defeating the long-reigning champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. 

He has an incredible comeback performance as he got a TKO win in the 5th round after being on the losing end of the scorecards for most of the fight. His next fight might be a rematch against Adesanya, however, there aren't any official announcements.
