By admin | March 29, 2022

The 2021-22 NCAA Women’s Basketball schedule delivered excitement night in and night out from the opening tip offs to the current 2022 NCAA Women’s Tournament.

This excitement was led by a deep list of talented programs including the likes of South Carolina Gamecocks who have dominated from start to their current run to the Women’s NCAA Final Four as the top overall seed within the tournament.

As the Gamecocks have held the top ranking among the AP Top 25 Women’s rankings this season, they have not disappointed with stellar play while defeating all of their opponents during the regular season.

In addition to the Gamecocks some of the other top programs to dominate this season have included the Stanford Cardinals and North Carolina State Wolfpack who both only registered three losses during the regular season while the Louisville Cardinals, UConn Huskies and Baylor Bears all showcased their potential talent.

With that said, here is our list of the Top 10 NCAA Basketball Women’s Teams

Honorable Mention

Maryland Terps

Season Record: 23-9

The record doesn’t speak for itself as the eight losses might make the Maryland Terps Women’s Basketball team look like they weren’t as good as they really were during the 2021-22 NCAA Basketball schedule.

However, as you look at the caliber of the schedule the Terps faced from start to the finish, they faced a stacked schedule that included the likes of top tier ranked programs such as South Carolina Gamecocks, Baylor Bears, NC State Wolfpack, Stanford Cardinals, Michigan Wolverines, Indiana Hoosiers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

The team’s talent showed up during the NCAA Tournament bracket picking up back-to-back wins to move to the Sweet 16. The Terps had seven different players average at least 25 minutes per game and five different players average at least 10 points per game.

The big question everyone is asking is how good of a season could have the UConn Huskies put together if it wasn’t for the team losing All-American candidate Paige Bueckers.
