The Best NBA Power Forwards of 2023-2024 Rankings

The 2023-2024 NBA schedule continues to stroll along as the season approaches the final month of the regular season. As the final few weeks of the regular NBA season is set to deliver some fireworks, many of the NBA’s top power forwards including Giannis Antetokounmpo have the talent and skills to deliver their own fireworks. The 11-time NBA veteran and eight-time NBA All-Star Antetokounmpo currently sits atop the Top 10 Best NBA Power Forwards 2024 Rankings list while continuing to dominate the hardwood night in and night out.

Entering the final few days of March 2024, the Milwaukee Bucks superstar currently sits second in the NBA while averaging 30.6 points per game over the first 67 games of the season. The Greek Freak success on the hardwood alongside Damian Lillard this season currently has the Bucks sitting in second place within the Eastern Conference.

As Antetokounmpo headlines the list of the top power forwards in the NBA, other top power forwards joining him upon the list includes Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns, Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans, and Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic.

Honorable Mention

Brandon Miller

Team: Charlotte Hornets

Just missing the Top 10 NBA Power Forwards 2024 Rankings list is the Charlotte Hornets 2023 NBA Draft first round draft pick Brandon Miller.

Miller, who jumped to the head of the draft class last season with a strong play with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Miller has not disappointed this season while averaging 16.8 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game over 64 games played during the 2023-2024 NBA schedule.

While developing into one of the top young stars around the NBA, Miller has also shot 43.4 percent from the field as well 36.8 percent from the three-point line. 

Jalen Williams

Team: Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the top up-and-coming teams around the NBA while emerging as one of the top two teams within the NBA Western Conference.

Led by young stars such as Jalen Williams the Thunder has stormed out to the third best record within the NBA and in the driver’s seat to a playoff spot. After posting a strong rookie season last year, Williams has taken his game to the next level alongside an exceptionally talented group of young stars on the Thunder roster including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Through 65 games during the 2023-2024 NBA Season, Williams has improved his overall scoring production posting 19.4 points per game while shooting 53.6 percent from the field and an impressive 43.6 percent from behind the three-point line. 

Top 10 NBA Power Forwards 2024 Rankings

10. Jaren Jackson Jr.

Team: Memphis Grizzlies

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 NBA Power Forwards 2024 Rankings list is the Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. The former Michigan State Spartans forward has been leaned on more during his sixth season with the loss of Ja Morant within the roster.

Jackson Jr has not disappointed, increasing his scoring high from 18.6 points per game last season to 22.3 points per game this season.

The production does not stop there as the 24-year-old power forward is a dynamic two-way player that is averaging 1.6 blocked shots per game and 1.2 steals per game. Meanwhile Jackson Jr continues to add 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. 

9. Pascal Siakam

Team: Indiana Pacers

Whenever you have a big man who has the ability to shoot from all over the floor it is easy to understand why they rank among the best players in the game. That is the case with Pascal Siakam of the Indiana Pacers who has a strong shot from all over the floor including a solid shot from behind the three-point line.

After starting the season with the Toronto Raptors, Siakam landed within the Pacers before the 2023-2024 NBA trade deadline. Since arriving Siakam has improved his overall shooting percentage over his last 33 games to 55.2 percent while seeing his three-point percentage increase to a career high 37.9 percent.

Siakam is in the midst of his sixth straight season averaging at least 21 points per game while ranking ninth among all power forwards. 

8. Paul George

Team: Los Angeles Clippers

The fourteen-year NBA veteran has not slowed down one bit while avoiding father time from slowing down his production on the hardwood. Since arriving in 2010-2011, Paul George has developed into one of the best overall forwards in the NBA before shifting to the power forward slot.

Outside an injury shortened 2014-2015 NBA season, George has posted at least 20 points in every season since 2013-2014 including nine straight seasons since playing in just six games.

Through late March, George has the Los Angeles Clippers fighting for a top four playoff position. In 66 games played this season, George has posted 22.5 points per game to go along with 5.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

With a veteran cast including George as well as Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, the Clippers are looking to win the NBA Championship this season before opening up their new arena next season.

7. Lauri Markkanen

Team: Utah Jazz

After a fire sale watched Utah Jazz stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell find new homes over the past few seasons, the team relied on a new set of NBA players to pick up the slack.

One of those players picking up the slack is Lauri Markkanen who has been a solid shooter since arriving in the NBA during the 2017 NBA Draft. Since arriving in the NBA, the former Arizona Wildcats forward has posted a career 45.9 field goal percentage mark to go along with a 37.5 three-point percentage.

That production has continued this season as Markkanen has exceeded both numbers while averaging 23.2 points per game.

The seven-foot power forward has also been strong on the glass in each of the last two seasons since arriving in Utah including posting 8.2 rebounds over 55 games played this season. Overall, the Jazz’s power forward has posted 19 double doubles this season.

6. Zion Williamson

Team: New Orleans Pelicans

The former number one overall pick during the 2019 NBA Draft has had an up and down start to his career with injuries limiting his overall production. That has not been the case through late March of the 2023-2024 NBA season as Zion Williamson has tied his career high in games played with 61 games.

Despite seeing his overall numbers decrease from the past few seasons, Williamson continues to be a threat night in and night out posting 22.7 points to go along with 5.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

In addition, Williamson ranks among the leaders in power forwards in multiple statistics including ranking fifth in scoring and assists as well as ninth in blocked shots per game (1.0). A healthy Williamson has the Pelicans looking to make another run during the 2023-2024 NBA Playoffs.

5. Paolo Banchero

Team: Orlando Magic

Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NBA Power Forwards 2024 Rankings list is the Orlando Magic second year star Paolo Banchero. Banchero who took home the 2023 NBA Rookie of the Year Award has continued his strong start to his NBA career.

After being selected by the Magic with the first overall pick during the 2022 NBA Draft, Banchero has developed into one of the game’s top young stars all by the age of 21.

In 69 games played this season, Banchero has posted 22.6 points per game to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field. 

4. Anthony Davis

Team: Los Angeles Lakers

The former Kentucky Wildcats power forward has been a backbone of the Los Angeles Lakers roster all season while helping the Lakers make a push at another postseason run.

When it comes to the power forward position Davis is a dynamic playmaker on both ends of the floor while ranking among the best shot blockers in the NBA.

Over 68 games played this season Davis has posted 2.2 blocked shots per game while posting his third straight season averaging at least two blocked shots as well as his 10th overall season with two blocked shots.

In addition to being a great shot blocker, Davis is averaging 24.7 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game. 

3. Kevin Durant

Team: Phoenix Suns

Slowly approaching 36 years old, the Phoenix Suns power forward continues to dominate the hardwood each night as the 2023-2024 NBA schedule. The 16-year NBA veteran has continued his trend of dominance while posting 16 straight seasons averaging at least 20 points per game.

Through 65 games this season, Kevin Durant has filled the stat sheet including averaging 27.6 points per game. To go along with the scoring Durant has also averaged 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.

On the opposite end of the floor, Durant has also been a bright spot posting 1.3 blocked shots per game and nearly one steals per game (.9). 

2. Domantas Sabonis

Team: Sacramento Kings

Joining the Greek Freak among the best power forwards within the NBA is the Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis, like Antetokounmpo, is a dynamic playmaker who continues to be a versatile player in the league while being as unselfish as any player in the NBA.

Through 72 games played this season is one of only 14 players to average at double double and one of only two players joining Nikola Jokic to average at least 19 points per game, at least 10 rebounds, and at least eight assists per game.

On the season Sabonis has posted 68 double doubles, 25 triple doubles while averaging 19.7 points per game, 13.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game.

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Team: Milwaukee Bucks

In at number one on the Top 10 NBA Power Forwards 2024 Rankings list is the former two-time NBA MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo is one of the most dynamic players in the NBA and currently ranks second within the NBA while averaging 30.6 points per game. The 30.6 points per mark is the second straight season the Greek Freak has averaged over 30 points per game.

In addition to being one of the top scoring threats within the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks power forward also ranks among the leaders in rebounding while posting 11.4 rebounds per game. Over the course of 67 games this season, Antetokounmpo has posted 53 double doubles and nine triple doubles.
