The final three weeks of the 2023-2024 NBA season is upon us as the regular season schedule wraps up on April 14th, 2024. As another exciting action-packed regular season comes to an end while the excitement of the NBA Playoffs tips off. Over the first five months of the season many of the NBA’s top stars have stepped up and put together strong seasons including at the shooting guard position. One of those shooting guards is the Phoenix Suns veteran Devin Booker who ranks atop the Top 10 Best NBA Shooting Guards 2024 Rankings list. 

Booker has continued his hot start to his NBA career while posting eight straight seasons averaging at least 22 points per game including each of the last two seasons posting at least 27 points per game.

Despite playing in his ninth season in the NBA, Booker is just 27 years old while in the middle of his prime while continuing to develop his all-around game. Joining Booker along the best shooting guards in the NBA include

Honorable Mention

CJ McCollum

Team: New Orleans Pelicans

Just missing the Top 10 NBA Shooting Guards 2024 Rankings list is the New Orleans Pelicans veteran shooting guard CJ McCollum. After posting nine consecutive seasons averaging at least 20 points, McCollum has seen his overall scoring numbers taper off this season while dropping to 18.6 points per game.

However, despite the drop off in scoring McCollum has improved his overall shooting and shot selection helping to increase his shooting percentage to 46.1 percent from the floor and 41.8 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Pelican’s shooting guard has also added 4.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game over 55 games played this season.

Immanuel Quickley

Team: Toronto Raptors

Like his current teammate and former New York Knicks teammate RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley has benefited from his trade to the Toronto Raptors this season.

The former Kentucky Wildcats guard has posted a career high 17.7 points per game since arriving with the Raptors over 32 games played this season while bringing his overall average for the season to 16.4 points per game.

To go along with increased scoring production since arriving in Canada, Quickley has also seen his overall rebounding numbers improve to 4.7 per game while total assists improved from 2.5 per game to 6.6 assists per game.

The future looks promising for the Raptors as the young nucleus of the team continues to develop into some of the game’s top young stars.

10. Devin Vassell

Team: San Antonio Spurs

Sliding in at number 10 on the Top 10 NBA Shooting Guards 2024 Rankings list is the San Antonio Spurs fourth year rising star Devin Vassell.

The Spurs who are in a youth movement have started to see all around production increase this season including the departure of the former Florida State Seminoles shooting guard Devin Vassell.

Vassell who is averaging a career high 32.8 minutes per game this season is currently shooting 46.9 percent from the field to go along with 37.1 percent from behind the three-point line.

The strong shooting numbers has also helped Vassell increase his scoring to 19.2 points per game while also adding 3.9 rebounds and four assists per game. 

9. RJ Barrett

Team: Toronto Raptors

After being drafted by the New York Knicks with the team’s third overall pick during the 2019 NBA Draft, RJ Barrett slowly developed into a solid all-around player for the team and a top tier shooting guard.

Barrett, who played his college ball for the Duke Blue Devils was during his third straight season averaging at least 18 points per game before being dealt to the Toronto Raptors.

The move paid off for Barrett as his overall production has increased since arriving in Canada including posting career highs in scoring (20.8), rebounds (6.2) and assists (4.0) over 27 games with the team. 

8. Jalen Green

Team: Houston Rockets

All around the NBA the league is loaded with All-Star caliber stars all under the age of 25 including the Houston Rockets former second overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft Jalen Green.

Green, who is in his third season with the Rockets continues to rank among the top shooting guards each season including this season while posting 19.6 points per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 33.4 percent from behind the three-point line.

Green who is a key member of the Rockets youth movement will finish off his third season sitting at just 22 years old while having recorded three straight seasons averaging at least 17.3 points per game. 

7. Terry Rozier

Team: Miami Heat

The 30-year-old veteran who spent his college career with the Louisville Cardinals continues to rank among the best shooting guards. Despite seeing his overall numbers drop this season after arriving with the Miami Heat, Terry Rozier continues to be a tremendous all-around shooting guard who can shoot from all over the floor including behind the three-point line.

Over his first 30 games of the season Rozier posted a career high 23.2 points per game to go alongside a career high 6.6 assists per game. Those numbers have dropped off after arriving with the talented Heat roster lowering his season averages to just 19.8 points per game and 5.9 assists per game.

Nonetheless Rozier continues to shoot 43.5 percent from the field while also being strong on the glass adding 4.2 rebounds per game.

6. James Harden

Team: Los Angeles Clippers

Once a former unstoppable shooting guard within the league, the aging veteran who will turn 35 during late summer continues to flourish as an unselfish shooting guard who is not afraid to get his teammates involved.

Harden, who was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers is averaging 17.1 points per game this season while also adding 5.1 rebounds per game to go along with 8.5 assists. The veteran shooting guard is a key ball handler for the team while running the team’s overall offense on most possessions each night.

While Harden has seen his scoring totals drop to his lowest totals since the 2011-2012 NBA Season, is still a threat each time the basketball is within his hands on each possession.

5. Dejounte Murray

Team: Atlanta Hawks

Rounding out the top five on the Top 10 NBA Shooting Guards 2024 Rankings list is the Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Dejounte Murray. The Hawks shooting guard entered the final few days of March 2024 ranked third among all shooting guards in scoring while averaging 22.3 points per game.

In addition, the Hawks star currently ranks third among all shooting guards in assists per game while averaging 6.2 per contest and seventh in rebounding posting 5.3 rebounds per game.

Currently Murray is on his way to posting his third straight season averaging at least 20 points per game while setting a career high in scoring this season over 68 games played. In his second season with the Hawks, Murray has formed a dynamic duo alongside point guard Trae Young.

4. Cam Thomas

Team: Brooklyn Nets

As you start to look at the future of the NBA it is hard to not look at Cam Thomas of the Brooklyn Nets as one of the top young stars of the game. Thomas, who was overlooked by the first 26 picks during the 2021 NBA Draft has been one of the Nets brightest young stars.

The former LSU Tigers star has slowly developed into an everyday starter within the roster while improving all aspects of his game including double his scoring production from last season from 10.6 points per game to 21.5 points per game this season.

Through 56 games this season Thomas currently ranks 30th in the NBA in scoring while shooting 44.2 percent from the field. Look for the Nets 22-year-old star to continue to develop into one of the game’s top shooting guards moving forward.

3. Jaylen Brown

Team: Boston Celtics

The third trio of the talented group of shooting guards is the Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown. Brown, who has formed one of the best young tandems in the NBA alongside Jayson Tatum is as good as any player in the NBA and one that can take over a game any night of the week.

Brown lands on the list while ranking third in scoring among all NBA shooting guards while averaging 23.4 points per game.

Through 64 games this season Brown has posted five double doubles, one triple double while averaging 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

Even more impressive has been Brown’s improvement in slot selection while setting a career high while posting a 50.3 field goal percentage this season. 

2. Anthony Edwards

Team: Minnesota Timberwolves

When it comes to the top two or three shooting guards in the NBA each are well worth a mention including Anthony Edwards. Edwards, who is just 22 years old is well on his way to taking over the top spot among shooting guards while continuing to improve his overall numbers from season to season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star is averaging a career high 26.4 points per game while shooting a career high 46.5 points from the floor. As Edwards continues to develop his all-around game, his highlight reels continue to pour in including his latest posterizing dunk on top of John Collins.

Over 68 games this season, Edwards has also added 5.5 rebounds per game and 5.2 assists per game while also being aggressive on the defensive end posting 1.3 steals per game.

1. Devin Booker

Team: Phoenix Suns

Headlining the list of the top shooting guards landing on Top 10 NBA Shooting Guards 2024 Rankings list is the Phoenix Suns Devin Booker. Booker has been one of the game’s top stars since arriving during the 2015 NBA Draft.

The former Kentucky Wildcats star has been an anchor within the Suns roster including averaging 24.3 points per game over 588 career games with the team.

Booker is putting together one of his best seasons of his career while posting 27.4 points per game to go along with 4.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.

In addition, his strong numbers, Booker is shooting 49.5 percent from the field while connecting on 36.4 percent of his three-point attempts.
