The game of Major League Baseball is loaded with talented stars taking to the field each night including at the center fielder position.

As you start to look at the best MLB center fielders through the first few months of the 2023 MLB schedule, the list of stars filling the position is loaded with talent.

One of those players landing at the top of the Top 10 MLB Center Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the New York Yankees MVP Aaron Judge.

Judge, who is coming off an impressive 2022 MLB performance has continued his success to start the 2023 MLB season. The Yankees outfielder currently ranks in the top five in home runs, slugging percentage, and OPS as well as within top 20 in runs batted in.

As Judge continues to rake at the plate this season, he is just one of the many center fielders performing at a high level.

Other top center fielders for the 2023 MLB schedule includes Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels, Luis Robert Jr of the Chicago White Sox, Cedric Mullins of the Baltimore Orioles, and Esteury Ruiz of the Oakland A’s. Here is a look at the Top 10 MLB Center Fielders 2023 Rankings list.

Jack Suwinski

Team: Pittsburgh Pirates

Landing just outside of the Top 10 MLB Center Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Jack Suwinski. The 24-year-old center fielder has gotten off to a strong start for the Pirates during the 2023 MLB season while contributing to the Pirates early success.

On the season Suwinski is batting .231 on the year with seven home runs, seven doubles, and 22 runs batted in. Currently the Pirates center fielder ranks tied for 6th in home runs and tied for 6th in runs batted in among all center fielders to start the season.

Brandon Marsh

Team: Philadelphia Phillies

Another player putting together a solid start to the 2023 MLB schedule is the Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Brandon Marsh.

Marsh, who is in his first full season with the Phillies after joining the team during the season last year, is having a solid start to the season while filling the duties in center field for the Phillies.

The 25-year-old center fielder is currently batting .266 on the year with eight doubles, four triples, four home runs to go along with 16 runs batted in and 34 total hits.

10. Cody Bellinger

Team: Chicago Cubs

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 MLB Center Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Chicago Cubs center fielder Cody Bellinger.

Prior to his knee injury back on May 16th, 2023, the Cubs center fielder was having a strong start his first season playing full time at Wrigley Field.

The former Los Angeles Dodgers MVP is batting .271 on the year with seven home runs to go along with 20 runs batted in and a .493 slugging percentage

 Bellinger currently ranks within the top 10 among center fielders in slugging percentage, on base percentage (.337), home runs, and batting average.

9. Riley Greene

Team: Detroit Tigers

One of the promising young faces of MLB is the Detroit Tigers center fielder Riley Greene who is just 22 years old during his first full season with the club.

Green is putting together a strong start this season hitting .282 to start the season while picking up 48 hits over his first 170 at bats.

Of those 48 hits, 12 hits have gone for extra base hits including six doubles, two triples, and four home runs. To go along with those offensive numbers includes a .337 on base percentage, 16 runs batted in, and 22 runs scored.

8. Christopher Morel

Team: Chicago Cubs

It is hard not to include the Chicago Cubs center fielder Christopher Morel who has been filling in for the injured Bellinger. Since being called up on May 9th, 2023, Morel has hit home runs in eight of his first 11 games this season.

Over those 11 games, the Cubs outfielder has 17 hits over 46 at bats including three doubles and eight home runs. Morel currently has 14 runs batted in on the year to go along with a .370 batting average and a .396 on base percentage mark.

Despite appearing in just 11 games, Morel is currently ranked 5th in home runs while moving up the leaderboard in other categories among center fielders.

7. Brandon Nimmo

Team: New York Mets

As expectations were set extremely high for the New York Mets to start the 2023 MLB season, early season struggles have gleaned the franchise to start the season.

One player who has performed well to start the season is Brandon Nimmo who is currently batting .291 on the year over his first 182 at bats of the season.

Overall, the Mets center fielder has 14 multiple hit performances on the year to go along with the second most hits among all center fielders with 53 total hits. Among those 53 hits includes nine doubles, one triple, and 19 runs batted in.

6. James Outman

Team: Los Angeles Dodgers

After a really hot start to the season, James Outman has cooled off of late for the Los Angeles Dodgers but still remains among the best performing center fielders in the game.

Outman, who is taking advantage of his first real playing time at the major league level has picked up 40 hits over his first 156 at bats this season including nine home runs and eight doubles.

Overall, Outman is batting .256 on the year with 28 runs batted in and 28 runs scored. The Dodgers outfielder ranks among the top 10 center fielders in hits, triples, home runs, and runs batted in.

5. Esteury Ruiz

Team: Oakland A’s

Rounding out the Top 10 MLB Center Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Oakland A’s center fielder Esteury Ruiz. The A’s rookie center fielder who sits at 24-years-old currently leads all MLB center fielders in hits with 54.

To go along with the 54 hits Ruiz currently leads all of Major League Baseball with 24 stolen bases. While Ruiz has just one home run on the season, the A’s center fielder makes up with it with his speed while also picking up 13 doubles to start the season.

4. Mike Trout

Team: Los Angeles Angels

Another MLB season has arrived, and another year Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels ranks among the best center fielders in the game.

Trout who has appeared in 44 games this season is batting .281 on the year over his first 171 at bats while picking up 10 doubles, 10 home runs, and 23 runs batted in. Currently Trout ranks 3rd among all center fielders with 10 home runs, 6th in doubles with 10, and tied for 4th with 48 hits. 

3. Luis Robert Jr.

Team: Chicago White Sox

The electric 25-year-old center fielder for the Chicago White Sox is slowly blossoming into one of the game’s brightest young stars as well as top center fielders.

While playing a strong defense in center field, Robert Jr is showcasing his ability to hit among the best players in the game as well in 2023.

Through 47 games this season the White Sox talented center fielder is hitting .269 with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 29 runs batted in, and a .566 slugging percentage.

2. Cedric Mullins

Team: Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles continue to be one of the biggest surprise in all of baseball while posting one of the top records in baseball. One of those stars helping to carry the load is the team’s All-Star center fielder Cedric Mullins.

Mullins is an all-around strong center fielder who can hit, run, throw, and play strong defense up the middle. While the season is still early on Mullins is off to a great start including hitting for the cycle while also ranking among the top 10 in home runs (7), stolen bases (13), runs batted in (38), hits (39).

1. Aaron Judge

Team: New York Yankees

In at number one on the Top 10 MLB Center Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the New York Yankees All-Star and reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge.

Despite missing time due to injury Judge still is on pace to out hit all center fielders in a wide range of statistics including home runs and runs batted in.

On the season Judge is currently tied with Luis Robert Jr for the most home runs (13) among center fielders while also driving in 32 runs, picking up eight doubles, and posting and .400 on base percentage for the season.
