Ranking the best Female Bantamweight fighters in the world after Julianna Peña provided a major upset in defeating Amanda Nunes to become the new UFC Bantamweight Champion at UFC 269

Macy Chiasson

Organization: UFC

Macy Chiasson is an up-and-coming fighter in the UFC Bantamweight division, and she has an MMA record of 7 wins and 1 loss. She is going to fight Raquel Pennington this weekend, and a win would get her a spot in the MMA rankings. 

Pannie Kianzad

Organization: UFC

Pannie Kianzad is another fighter who deserves an honorable mention, and she has a professional record of 15 wins and 6 losses.

10. Sara McMann

Organization: UFC

Sara McMann is an American MMA fighter and former Olympic wrestler. She has a professional MMA record of 12 wins and 6 losses, and she won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics. 

In the UFC he has notable wins over Lauren Murphy, Jessica Eye, Gina Mazany, and Lina Länsberg. She lost her most recent fight against Julianna Peña, and here she will be fighting Karol Rosa for her next fight in March of next year. 

9. Meisha Tate

Organization: UFC

Meisha Tate is an American MMA fighter with a record of 19 wins and 8 losses. She is one of the biggest female MMA stars in the world and the former UFC Bantamweight champion. 

She won the title after defeating Holly Holm, and after retiring back in 2016, she made a successful comeback earlier this year against Marion Reneau at UFC on ESPN: Makhachev vs. Moisés. Tate has notable wins over Liz Carmouche, Sara McMann, Jessica Eye, and Holly Holm. 

Her next fight has not been announced yet. 

8. Ketlen Vieira

Organization: UFC

Fighting out of Brazil, Ketlen Vieira is an MMA fighter with a professional record of 12 wins and only 2 losses. 

She has notable wins over Ashlee Evans-Smith, Sara McMann, Sijara Eubanks, and in her most recent fight Miesha Tate at UFC Fight Night: Vieira vs. Tate. As of now, there is no official announcement about her next fight. 

7. Yana Kunitskaya

Organization: UFC

Yana Kunitskaya is a Russian MMA fighter competing in the UFC, and she has a professional record of 14 wins, 6 losses, and 1 no-contest. 

She is the former Invicta FC Bantamweight champion, and she also challenged Cris Cyborg for the UFC Featherweight title back in 2018 but lost. Her notable wins in the UFC have come against Marion Reneau and Ketlen Vieira. 

Her next fight has not been announced yet. 

6. Irene Aldana

Organization: UFC

Irene Aldana is a Mexican MMA fighter, with a professional record of 13 wins and 6 losses. 

She has been fighting in the UFC since 2016, and before that competed in Invicta FC. in her most recent fight, she defeated Yana Kunitskaya. She als has impressive wins over Bethe Correia and Ketlen Vieira. 

Her next fight has not been announced. 

5. Raquel Pennington

Organization: UFC

At number 5, we have the American MMA fighter, Raquel Pennington. She has a record of 12 wins and 8 losses. 

Raquel Pennington has challenged for the world title and fought Amanda Nunes in 2018, however, she lost that fight via TKO. Pennington has some impressive wins over Ashlee Evans-Smith, Jéssica Andrade, Miesha Tate, Irene Aldana, and in her most recent fight Pannie Kianzad. 

For her next fight, she is going to face Macy Chiasson this coming weekend at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Daukaus as a Featherweight. 

4. Holly Holm

Organization: UFC

Holly Holm is an American MMA fighter with a record of 14 wins and 5 losses. 

She is the former UFC Bantamweight champion and won the title after defeating Ronda Rousey when she was in her prime. She also challenged Cris Cyborg for the Featherweight title in a very competitive fight that went the distance. 

She won her last two fights, including a win over irene Aldana in her most recent outing, which was in October of 2020. She has not fought since, and there is no announcement about her next fight. 

3. Germaine de Randamie

Organization: UFC

Starting off the list, at number 10 we have Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie. She is a dutch MMA fighter, with a professional record of 10 wins and 4 losses. 

She is also the former UFC Featherweight champion, and recently also challenged Amanda Nunes for the Bantamweight belt. However, she lost. In her most recent fight, the iron lady defeated Julianna Peña via submission and got a post-fight bonus as well. 

As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight. 

2. Amanda Nunes

Organization: UFC

Title: UFC Featherweight World Champion

Amanda Nunes is one of the most accomplished female fighters in the sport of MMA. She is the current UFC Women’s Featherweight champion and the former UFC Bantamweight champion. 

She held both titles simultaneously until last weekend when she fought Julianna Peña. Nunes was the heavy favorite, but it seemed like she wasn’t herself in the fight, and was only trying to land the right overhand. Peña landed some good shots in the first, and in the beginning of the second round, taking Nunes down and submitting her with a rear-naked choke, that Nunes didn’t even try to defend.

Title: UFC Bantamweight World Champion

At the top of the list, we have the newly minted Bantamweight champion of the world, Julianna Peña. has a record of 11 wins and 4 losses. 

She has had some impressive wins in the UFC, but none are as impressive as the one she pulled off last weekend when she submitted Amanda Nunes to win the Bantamweight title. As a massive underdog, she shook the world by taking the fight to Nunes and hurting her in the first round with strong jabs and power punches. In the second, she easily took Nunes down and submitted her via rear-naked choke
