Fortuna then moved up to the lightweight division and got a title shot after going on a 4 fight win streak. He fought Robert Easter Jr. for the IBF Lightweight title, however came short, losing by split decision.
The Dominican boxer lost his last fight to Joseph Diaz, and as of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.
With an extensive record of 47-6, Jorge Linares is one of the most experienced boxers on this list. He has won world titles in three weight divisions including lightweight. In 2014 he defeated Francisco Javier Prieto to win the vacant WBC Lightweight title.
After defending the title twice, he also won the WBA Lightweight championship after beating Anthony Crolla, which he defended three times. Linares lost the belt to Lomachenko in his next fight.

Diaz is the current interim WBC lightweight champion, and he also held the IBF title at super featherweight before he moved up. Before his most recent fight, he defeated Javier Fortuna via a unanimous decision.
Diaz’s next fight was a title unification bout against the current WBC champion, Devin Haney. Diaz had his moments and was competitive throughout but was not enough to secure the victory. Diaz lost via unanimous decision.
The next fighter on our list, Richard Commey is from Ghana, and he has a record of 30-3. His first attempt at a world title at lightweight failed in 2016, however after about 3 years, he won the IBF Lightweight title defeating Isa Chaniev.
After one title defense, he lost the belt to Teofimo Lopez, Commey won his most recent fight, which happened in February against Jackson Marinez and his next fight is going to happen a couple of weeks from now against Vasyl Lomachenko.
Until last weekend, Teófimo López jr was the unified lightweight champion of the world, however, the American Boxer had to face his first defeat and lost the titles. The 24-year-old won the belt after defeating Vasyl Lomachenko, who was the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer at the time.
Lopez now has a record of 16-1, and in his last fight, he was very competitive, even landing a late knockdown against George Kambosos Jr. However, his performance wasn’t enough to convince all the judges, and he lost via Split decision.
Title(s): WBA (Regular) World Lightweight Champion
Gervonta “Tank” Davis is perhaps one of the most prolific stars in the lower weight divisions right now. Davis is undefeated, with 25 wins, all but one of which came by the way of Knockout.
Davis has held titles in three different weight classes, He won the IBF super featherweight and the WBA (Super) super featherweight title.
Davis is also the current WBA (Regular) lightweight champion. He moved up to super-lightweight and defeated Mario Barrios to win the WBA (Regular) super lightweight title.
Recently, he defended his lightweight title against Isaac Cruz. He was able to dominate the fight and looked to have injured his left hand late in the fight. He was still able to secure a victory by unanimous decision
Title(s): WBC World Lightweight Champion
Devin Haney is currently the youngest world champion in the world, and he has an undefeated record of 26-0 with 15 KOs. Haney is also the current WBC Lightweight champion.
Haney defeated Zaur Abdullaev in 2019 to become the Interim WBC lightweight champion and was later promoted to the world champion when WBC made the then champion Lomachenko their franchise champion.
In his most recent fight, Haney defeated Joseph Diaz by unanimous decision, displaying speed and dominance in a impressive performance.
Garcia is one of the most popular stars in boxing today, however, don’t let that take your focus off the fact that he is an incredible boxer. With an undefeated record of 21-0, with 18 KOs, Garcia has been tearing his way through the lightweight division.
Most notably, he has defeated fighters like Romero Duno and Francisco Fonseca, Jayson Velez, and most recently, Luke Campbell. In his last fight, he also won the vacant WBC interim lightweight title. The title was later stripped.
Vasyl Lomachenko is one of the most artistic fighters in boxing today. His incredible footwork, speed, and accuracy make him a challenge for any fighter in and around his weight division. Loma is the former unified WBA (Super), WBO, WBC, and The Ring lightweight champion.
However, last year the former P4P king had to deal with his first convincing loss against Teofimo Lopez Jr. Though Lomachenko rallied in the later rounds, he couldn’t do enough to put Lopez away and score a victory.
