The NBA is loaded with a ton of talent that includes the best basketball players from around the world all coming together to compete for an NBA Championship.

This has been the case for years and it is not different during the 2021-22 NBA Schedule as the game is filled with so much talent on every team across the NBA. From the new income rookie class that have shined during their first year to second, third and fourth year stars such to the talented group of veteran NBA All-Stars.

When you look around the NBA it is hard to make a list of just the Top 10 NBA Players as the list of candidates is long.

From the likes of former MVPs in LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo to young stars such as Joel Embiid, Karl-Anthony Tomas, Luka Doncic and Trae Young to even some of the new rookies such as Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley. The future of the NBA is bright but for now these Top 10 NBA Players continue to shine night in and night or during the current NBA season.

With that said, here is our list of the Top 10 NBA Players

Honorable Mention

Jayson Tatum

Team: Boston Celtics

The big question is how much better the Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum could be if paired with a superstar point guard who could facilitate the offense while setting up scoring opportunities?

Tatum, who is in his fifth season with the Celtics is averaging 25.6 points a game to go with 8.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season. Among the NBA, Tatum ranks 9th in points per game, 25th in rebounds per game and 47th in assists per game. In addition, Tatum ranks 17th in the NBA in regards to wins over replacement (6.75).

Devin Booker

Team: Phoenix Suns

When you play on the team that has the best record in all of the NBA, it is easy to consider this team having one if not a few of the best players in the game of basketball.

This is the case as Devin Booker is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA and is currently ranked 11th in the NBA averaging 25.2 points a game while also averaging 5.4 rebounds per game and 4.3 assists. The Suns star has posted 17 games with at least 30 points this year while the team has won 14 of the 17 contests.

Top 10 NBA Players

10. Karl-Anthony Towns

Team: Minnesota Timberwolves

As a big man the tendency to get overlooked as one of the best players is consistent with very few big men getting their honor year in and year out. That said, Karl-Anthony Towns is well deserving of a Top 10 NBA Players nod as he has helped the Timberwolves to a 28-25 record to start the season and into one of the NBA playoff play-in games.

The former 1st overall NBA pick during the 2015 NBA Draft ranks 13th in points per game (24.3), rebounds (9.6) and 54th in assists (3.9). Towns ranks 10th in the NBA in wins over replacement (7.83).

9. Donovan Mitchell

Team: Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz rank near the top of the NBA in overall talent while currently sitting 4th in the Western Conference to start the season winning 32 of their first 53 games. Much of that success comes from the likes of their big man Rudy Goebert and star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell.

Mitchell is currently averaging 25.5 points a game this season while marking the fifth straight time since the start of his NBA career averaging at least 20 points a game. Mitchell is also currently shooting 45.5% from the field a career high while averaging a career high 6.2 assists per game.

8. Ja Morant

Team: Memphis Grizzlies

One of the NBA’s brightest young stars, Ja Morant continues to display his potential and greatness night in and night out as he has helped the Memphis Grizzlies to the third best record in all of the NBA.

Entering play to start the week of February 7th, 2022 the Grizzlies star is ranked 5th in the NBA in scoring averaging 26.4 points a game and 14th in the NBA in assists per game averaging 6.9 per contests while ranking 12th in wins over replacement (7.56). Mitchell is currently at career highs in points per game, rebounds per game, steals per game, field goal percentage and three point percentage.

7. Trae Young

Team: Atlanta Hawks

When you think about the Top 10 NBA Players week in and week out, it is hard to look past Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks as one of best players in the NBA. Young has the ability to take over any game and it has shown this season at various times including over the teams last 10 games as they have won seven of those contests to move back into playoff consideration.

Over the last 10 games, Young is averaging nearly 28 points a game to go with 4.1 rebounds and nine assists per game. In addition, Young ranks 13th in the NBA in double doubles today with 25 total double doubles.

6. Luka Doncic

Team: Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks star is one of key faces of the NBA and one player who can nearly do it all for his team night in and night out. The Mavericks star currently ranks tied for 7th in the NBA in wins over replacement (8.37) with Jimmy Butler. Doncic is one of a few players in the NBA to rank in the top 10 in points per game, top 20 in rebounds per game and top 10 in assists.

Doncic is averaging 6th in points per game (26), 19th in rebounds (8.9) and 5th in assists (9.1). Over Doncics last 10 games, the former 3rd overall pick during the 2018 NBA draft is averaging nearly a triple double (30.1 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 10.1 apg).

5. Kevin Durant

Team: Brooklyn Nets

When you look at the recent struggles of the Brooklyn Nets who have lost eight straight games while dropping to 7th in the Eastern Conference, the absence of Kevin Durant shows you how important he is to the team. Since his last appearance back on January 15th, the Nets have won just three of 13 games with Durant on the floor.

Prior to his injury Durant led all players in scoring (29.3 ppg) while averaging 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. While his chances of an MVP diminishes the longer he is out, the Nets star is still one of the Top 10 NBA Players in the game night in night out.

4. Joel Embiid

Team: Philadelphia 76ers

Making the biggest jump to the 10 NBA Players Week of February 7th, 2022 is the Philadelphia 76ers All-Star big man Joel Embiid. Embiid currently ranks 1st in the NBA in scoring averaging 29.3 points a game while helping the 76ers to the 5th spot in the Eastern Conference after winning seven of their last ten contests.

The former 1st round draft pick ranks 3rd in the NBA in wins over replacement (10.53) while trailing only former MVP’s Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. In addition to scoring, Embiid ranks 9th in the NBA in rebounds per game (10.9) and 44th in the NBA in assists per game (4.4).

3. Nikola Jokic

Team: Denver Nuggets

The reigning NBA MVP continues to dominate the floor night in and night out while helping the Denver Nuggets stay in playoff contention in the Western Conference. Like Luka Doncic, Jokic is a triple double machine posting a league high 14 to date while being one of the only players to rank in the Top 10 in scoring, rebounds and assists.

Jokic ranks 7th in scoring averaging 25.9 points a game while also ranking 2nd in the NBA in rebounds (13.7) and 8th in assists (7.9). Currently Jokic leads all NBA players in wins over replacement (17.55).

2. Stephen Curry

Team: Golden State Warriors

With the game on the line, the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry may be the hands down best player to call on and one player that can hit any shot on the floor. Curry currently ranks 8th in scoring averaging 25.9 points a game while also averaging 6.3 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game for a Warriors team that has the second best record in all of the NBA.

Despite a recent stretch of struggles for Curry, the Warriors continue to win games night in and night out as the team slowly returns to full strength.

Much of the team’s success is with Curry on the floor as we have seen over the past few years when Curry is out the Warriors lose games. The only players in the NBA to carry a higher wins over replacement is Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joe Embiid.

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Team: Milwaukee Bucks

How can you not have the Greek Freak as the top player on your Top 10 NBA Players list? The Milwaukee Bucks star is a threat to take over a game on any night and one that is nearly unstoppable for opposing players.

Entering play on Monday February 7th, 2022 Giannis Antetokounmpo ranks 2nd in the NBA in scoring averaging 28.9 points a game. Antetokounmpo joins both Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic as players ranking in the Top 10 in points, top 10 in rebounds and top 20 in assists.
