The 2021-2022 NBA schedule continues to deliver excitement night in and night out as we roll into the second full week of December. As the calendar of games came to end on December 12th, 2021 the NBA is loaded with a ton of talented teams both in the NBA Eastern and NBA Western Conferences.

An NBA Power Rankings to include the likes of the red hot Phoenix Suns leading the charge in the Western Conference while the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies stay near the top of the conference.

Meanwhile over the Eastern Conference the Brooklyn Nets continue to be one of the Top 10 NBA Teams during the 2021-2022 NBA schedule. Along with the Nets, the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls are two additional Eastern Conference teams making a push as one of the Top NBA teams this season.

With that said, here is our list of the Top 10 NBA Teams

Honorable Mention

Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles Lakers

It’s a difficult time being a fan of either of the teams from Los Angeles as both the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers have struggled to start the season. For the Clippers the team is just 5-5 over their last ten contests while starting the season with just one win inside their division in five tries.

Meanwhile the Lakers have seen play uptick a little over the past week plus winning six of their last ten games while pushing their overall record to 15-13 on the year despite sitting with a 7-9 conference record. Injuries to key stars have limited both teams to start the 2021-2022 NBA Season.

Washington Wizards

After a red hot start to the season, the Washington Wizards have seen their name drop their standings as well as on the Top 10 NBA Teams as of December 12th, 2021 list after losing six of their last ten overall games.

However despite their recent struggles the team still composes a winning record at 15-12 while sitting 10-9 in Eastern Conference matchups while going 5-3 against the Western Conference to start the season. The team has some solid depth while Bradley Beal continues to play at an NBA All-Star level night in and night out.

Top 10 NBA Teams

10. Philadelphia 76ers

With all of the drama that has surrounded the Philadelphia 76ers since the offseason to include the current situation with point guard Ben Simmons, the team has played themselves into the Top 6 six teams in the NBA Eastern Conference after winning six of their last ten contests.

While the team has posted a solid 9-7 record in the Eastern Conference, their struggles against teams within their division has them much lower on the list then many fans may have expected. A solution to the Simmons drama may be on the horizon to deliver the 76ers some potential hope as well as another star player to fill out their roster.

9. Cleveland Cavaliers

One of the biggest surprises in the NBA in 2021-22 has been the Cleveland Cavaliers who have started off the season with a 16-12 overall record while winning seven of their last 10 games overall to push themselves to number five in the Eastern Conference. Within conference play, the Cavaliers have posted a 10-6 record while winning two of their first three games against teams within their division.

On the year, the Cavaliers have eight different guys averaging at least double figures including Darius Garland who leads the team averaging 19 points a game to go along with three rebounds and 7.6 assists per game.

8. Miami Heat

As the 2021-22 NBA season continues to roll along for most of the NBA, the roller coaster ride to start the season for the Miami Heat continues to go up and down. This has been the case over their last ten contests as the team has won just five of their last ten contests overall.

Despite their recent struggles the Heat are still sitting at 10-5 overall within the Eastern Conference while winning three of their first four within their division. The Heat are led by Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro who are both averaging at least 20 points this season while averaging at least five rebounds and three assists.

7. Memphis Grizzlies

Sitting at number seven on the Top 10 NBA Teams as of December 12th, 2021 the Memphis Grizzlies have played themselves to one of the top spots. The Grizzlies have won seven of their past ten contests while pushing their overall record to 16-11.

The recent success has propelled the Grizzlies to the fourth spot in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies have done a great job on the glass this year limiting their opponents to fewer second chance opportunities as their opponents are averaging just 43.1 rebounds per game.

6. Chicago Bulls

After starting the season winning 12 of their first 17 contests, the Chicago Bulls have struggled winning just five of their last contests in back to back games to drop their record to 17-10 on the year. Despite the back to back losses, the Bulls are still holding strong among the top teams in the NBA as well as the Eastern Conference.

Off-season acquisition DeMar DeRozan has been a key force in the team’s play this season as he leads the team averaging 26.4 points a game to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Meanwhile longtime Bulls star Zach LaVine is averaging 26 points a game to go with 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

5. Milwaukee Bucks

As long as the Greek Freak is on the floor the Milwaukee Bucks will be one of the top teams in the NBA as well as the Eastern Conference. The Bucks currently sit at number two in the Eastern Conference with an 18-10 overall record and a 13-7 record against teams within the Eastern Conference.

On the year the Bucks rank 8th in points per game averaging 110.8 per contest and ranking first in the NBA in rebounds per game with 47.7 per contests. Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to be as dominant as any player in the league averaging 27.3 points per game to go along with 11.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists.

4. Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz might not be as flashy on paper or on the court as some of the other top teams, however all this team continues to do is win. The Jazz are as good as any team in the NBA on both sides of the floor. The team ranks second in the NBA in points per game scoring 115.3 per contests while also ranking fourth in rebounds per game, fourth in the NBA in fewest points allowed per game at 104.2 and first in rebounds allowed per game at just 40.8 per contests.

The Jazz are led by a wide range of contributors including Donovan Mitchell who leads the team averaging 24.8 points a game while Rudy Gobert, Jordan Clarkson, Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley all are key contributors.

3. Brooklyn Nets

Sitting as the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets have found themselves near the top of the Top 10 NBA Teams for the Week of December 12th, 2021 after winning seven of their last ten overall contests. The push has moved the Nets to 19-8 on the season while pushing their division record to 5-0 on the year. The Nets are led by proven All-Stars James Harden and Kevin Durant as both have controlled their own production this year while ensuring the Nets are the team to beat inside the Eastern Conference.

Durant is leading the NBA in scoring this season averaging 29.4 points a game while also grabbing 7.5 rebounds and dishing out 5.6 assists per game. Meanwhile, Harden is averaging 20.8 points a game to go with 7.9 rebounds and 9.6 assists per game.

2. Golden State Warriors

If it wasn’t for the top team on our Top 10 NBA Teams lists, the Golden State Warriors would be atop the Western Conference as well as the rest of the NBA as the best teams. Despite coming in at number two, the Warriors are as good as any team in the NBA led by All-Star Steph Curry who has played at an MVP level to start the season.

Over their last ten contests, the Warriors are 7-3 overall including a win over the top ranked team the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors rank third in points per game at 115.3, first in fewest points allowed per game at 100.4, first in point differential and third in rebounds per game at 46.9 per game. As Klay Thompson looks to return, this Warriors team should continue to be one of the top teams in the NBA.

1. Phoenix Suns

Coming in at number one is the hottest team in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns who are 9-1 over their last 10 overall contests with their only loss coming at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. The recent success has pushed the Suns to the best record in the NBA at 21-4 overall while improving their conference record 14-4 on the year.

Devin Booker continues to play at an NBA All-Star level averaging 23.2 points a game to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Meanwhile Deandre Ayton ranks ninth in the NBA in rebounds per game with 11.1 per contest and Chris Paul ranks first in the NBA in assists per game with 10.2 per contest.
