The game of football has many elements that all need to come together for any one team to have success for an entire season. As much of the focus around College Football looks at the offensive and defensive sides of the football, one side that is often left out is special teams including the importance both the placekicker and the punter has on the potential outcome of the game as well as the game plan their respective head coaches may have in place. One of those talented kickers is the Michigan Wolverines junior kicker Dominic Zvada who currently lands atop the Top 10 College Football Kickers 2024 Rankings list.

Zvada, who put together another strong season for the Wolverines announced back in December he would be returning for his senior season during the 2025-2026 NCAA Football season. The third-year kicker finished off his junior season taking home multiple honors including being named as a First-Team All-American selection.

Joining Zvada among the best kickers in college football includes Kenneth Almendares of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, Andrews Borregales of the Miami Hurricanes, Ryan Fitzgerald of the Florida State Seminoles, and Lucas Carneiro of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Honorable Mention

Michael Hayes II

School: West Virginia Mountaineers

Just missing the Top 10 College Football Kickers 2024 Rankings list is Michael Hayes II of the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Hayes, like a few of the other top placekickers in the country, was limited on his total field goal and extra point attempts due to the struggles of their offensive teams at times.

Ultimately however the senior kicker finished the season ranked eighth in College Football connecting on 92.9 of his total attempts with his only miss coming from between 30 and 39 yards.

However, the talented kicker connected on all seven of his attempts from at least 40 yards including a career long 52 field goal attempts.

Caden Davis

School: Ole Miss Rebels

Another talented placekicker who ranked among the best kickers in the country during his senior season is the Ole Miss Rebels Caden Davis. Davis capped off a strong final two seasons with the Rebels after transferring in last season connecting on 42 of his total 52 attempts including making four of eight from 50 yards and 13 of 16 from between 40 and 49 yards.

During this past season, Davis finished tied for fourth in the country while making 24 field goal attempts while also finishing connecting on 82.8 percent of his kicks.

In addition, Davis made 57 of his 59 extra point attempts while topping a career best 56-yard field goal made last year with a 57-yard field goal made this season. The big foot on Davis should have him land among the best kickers heading into the 2025 NFL Draft.

Top 10 Best Kickers in College Football 2024 Rankings

10. Will Ferrin

School: BYU Cougars

Sliding in the Top 10 on the Top 10 College Football Kickers 2024 Rankings list is the BYU Cougars junior kicker Will Ferrin. Ferrin who took over as the team’s starting kicker during his sophomore season put together a stellar junior season while making 24 of his total 27 field goal attempts as well as all 41 extra point attempts.

On the season Ferrin connected on 14 of 15 kicks from below 39 yards, six of seven attempts from between 40 and 49 yards, and four of five attempts from 50 yards including a career high 54-yard field goal.

9. Ben Sauls

School: Pittsburgh Panthers 

As you start to take a look around at the top kickers in all of College Football one name that is well deserving of a spot is the Pittsburgh Panthers senior Ben Sauls.

Sauls, who finished the season tied for ninth in most field goals made connecting on 21 total field goals over the course of the season.

While his accurate rate lacked some of the top kickers, Sauls was dominant from beyond the 50-yard mark connecting on six of seven total attempts while also making seven of nine attempts from between 40 and 49 yards. On the season the Panthers kicker was eight of eight below 39 yards while making all 44 extra point attempts.

8. Alex Raynor

School: Kentucky Wildcats

The Kentucky Wildcats senior kicker finished off the best season of his collegiate career connecting on 93.8 of his field goal attempts while going 15 of 16 on the season.

On the year Raynor’s only miss came from between 30 and 39 yards while making all four of his kicks between 40 and 49 yards as well as both kicks of at least 50 yards including a career long 55-yard field goal.

Raynor also added 26 of his 27 extra point attempts while being limited in both field goals and extra points due to the struggles of the Wildcats offense at times during the 2024-2025 NCAA Football season.

7. Peyton Woodring

School: Georgia Bulldogs 

While the 2024-2025 NCAA College Football season did not finish the way the Georgia Bulldogs had hoped for, it is hard to look past the success of their players including talented placekicker Peyton Woodring.

Woodring, who took over as the team’s starting kicker as a freshmen last season continued his success during this past season making 21 of his 23 total attempts including all six of his attempts between 40 and 49 yards as well as three of his five total attempts over 50 plus yards.

The strong season landed Woodring a 91.3 percent success rate on all field goal attempts while also connecting on all 48 extra point attempts. The talented sophomore will return for his junior season with an opportunity to compete for the Lou Groza Award for the best kicker in college football.

6. Gino Garcia

School: Texas Tech Red Raiders

Just missing landing among the best five kickers in College Football was the Texas Tech Red Raiders kicker Gino Garcia. Garcia, like most of the kickers landing on the Lou Groza Award, was stellar all season for his team.

After taking over full-time kicking duties last season, Garcia has been as strong as any kicker in the nation including during the 2024-2025 season.

Over the course of the season Garcia connected on 95 percent of his 20 total attempts, missing just one kick beyond the 50-yard mark. In addition to making 19 field goal attempts, Garcia also connected on all 40 of his extra point attempts over the course of the season.

5. Andrews Borregales

School: Miami Hurricanes

Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 College Football Kickers 2024 Rankings list is the Miami Hurricanes Andrews Borregales. Borregales who is expected to be one of the top kickers entering there 2025 NFL Draft finished off his Hurricanes career making 74 of his total 86 field goal attempts.

During the 2024-2025 NCAA Football season the Hurricanes placekicker was 18 of 19 on the year while making seven of his eight attempts of 40 plus yards.

In addition, the Hurricanes kicker was 62 of 62 on extra point attempts leading all kickers in College Football. The success of the Hurricanes offense scoring touchdowns limited the senior’s ability to attempt and make more field goals during the season.

4. Lucas Carneiro

School: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

One of the younger kickers landing among the best placekickers in College Football is the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers sophomore Lucas Carneiro. Carneiro, who was nine of 12 as a freshman, improved his all-around kicking abilities during his sophomore season.

A season in which Carneiro finished making 18 of 19 total kicks including all six of his attempts from beyond 50 yards. Despite missing one attempt, Carneiro finished the season connecting on 94.7 percent of his kicks while ranking tied for fourth in College Football.

In addition to making all six attempts from 50 yards, the Hilltoppers kicker was 3-3 on attempts from between 40 and 49 yards as well as making all 41 of his extra point attempts.

3. Ryan Fitzgerald

School: Florida State Seminoles

Another top tier kicking option in college football during the 2024-2025 NCAA Football season was Ryan Fitzgerald of the Florida State Seminoles.

While Fitzgerald may get overlooked among the top kickers due to only 13 attempts and 14 extra point attempts all season, it is hard to punish his success due to the struggles of the Seminoles offense for most of the season.

Ultimately the senior kicker finished the season making 13 of 13 field goal attempts including all five attempts from beyond 50 yards as well as all 14 extra point attempts. Over the past two seasons, Fitzgerald connected on 32 of 34 total field goals including 10 of his 11 total kicks beyond 40 yards.

2. Kenneth Almendares

School: Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns

When it comes to the top kickers in all of college football it is hard to look past Kenneth Almendares of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns who took home the 2024 Lou Groza Award.

While the Ragin’ Cajuns kicker was dominant all season he connected on only two of his five kicks from beyond 50 yards, sliding him to the second spot.

On the year Almendares finished the season connecting on 28 of 31 total attempts while leading all college football in made field goal kicks while also connecting on 46 of 47 extra point attempts. The strong season for the senior placekicker now has him ranked among the top potential kickers during the 2025 NFL Draft.

1. Dominic Zvada

School: Michigan Wolverines

In at number one on the Top 10 College Football Kickers 2024 Rankings list is the Michigan Wolverines junior kicker Dominic Zvada. Zvada, who announced he would return for his senior season, finishes off another stellar season while ranking among the best kickers in college football.

Zvada, who transferred in for his junior season after making 34 of his previous 40 kicks for the Arkansas State Red Wolves. The move paid off for the Wolverines as Zvada finished the season ranked second in college football, connecting on 95.5 percent while missing just one of his 22 total attempts.

On the season the Wolverines kicker connected on all three of his attempts between 40-49 yards and all seven of his kicks from over 50 yards or longer. The strong performance on the field earned Zvada a semi-finalist spot for the Lou Groza Award for the best kicker in college football.
