As you look around at the list of talented women’s stars taking the hardwood by storm the list includes Hannah Hidalgo from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Audi Crooks of the Iowa State Cyclones, and Mikayla Blakes of the Vanderbilt Commodores to name a few.
With the season now concluded here is a look at the Top 10 Women College Basketball Players 2025-2026 Rankings list:
Honorable Mention
Jaloni Cambridge
School: Ohio State Buckeyes
Position: Guard
Next Season Status: Returning
Jaloni Cambridge could have very well been on the list, and there were not many players who were better mid-season than her. Jaloni is lightning fast and one of the more dynamic scorers in the country. She finished the year averaging 23.2 PPG and was 4th in scoring out of all Power 4 schools.
Cotie McMahon
School: Ole Miss
Position: Forward
Next Season Status: Washington Mystics
I enjoyed watching Cotie McMahon’s shift in playstyle this year for Ole Miss. She did not shoot it at a particularly high percentage, but I love the uptick in three-point attempts and her stretching her game further out. Cotie got to the line a ton this season and shot it at a career best 73.5%. She finished the year averaging 19.5 PPG and 5.1 RPG.
Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Player Rankings
10. Kiki Rice
School: UCLA Bruins
Position: Guard
Next Season Status: Toronto Tempo
Starting out the Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Players 2025-2026 Rankings list is the talented senior Kiki Rice.
The UCLA Bruins finished the year by boat racing an elite South Carolina team to capture the program’s first national championship. This is a talent-rich UCLA squad, but Senior guard Kiki Rice was the engine that made this team go. Not many players in the country do the little things better than Kiki, and her intangibles jump out when you watch her.
A 4-year starter at UCLA, Kiki was crucial all year, and she was the lead guard for one of the best offenses in the country. Don’t sleep on what she did on defense either, as her size and commitment to that side of the ball have helped make her a versatile and valuable defender.
You see UCLA head coach Cori Close talk about the fact that Kiki “set a new standard for our program,” and it shows you how valuable she was to this team. She was the program’s highest-rated recruit at the time of her commitment, and her steady improvement as a shooter and overall player was huge for the program. She finished the season averaging 14.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 4.3 APG.
9. Audi Crooks
School: Iowa State Cyclones
Position: Center
Next Season Status: Transfer Portal
Nobody in the sport encapsulates bully ball more than Audi Crooks. She is unstoppable in the paint, and she uses her size and strength more effectively than anyone in the country. Audi’s footwork and soft touch around the rim are both elite, and the level of efficiency she scored with all season was special.
She finished the season second in points in the country with 25.8 PPG and shot an elite 64.9% from the field. Audi recently entered the transfer portal, so whoever gets her will be getting one of the best players in College basketball and will undoubtedly put their name deeper into the national title mix for 2026-27.
8. Joyce Edwards
School: South Carolina
Position: Forward
Next Season Status: Returning
Few players in the country match the mix of athleticism and size that Joyce Edwards possesses. Her defensive versatility is unmatched, and her motor is always a factor. I would put Joyce up there with almost anyone on defense, and at 6’3 with her athleticism, she is able to get into passing lanes and force turnovers. Joyce excels in transition, so her ability to force turnovers plays into that perfectly.
We have seen her get some Aja Wilson comparisons recently, and although she is not there yet as a jumpshooter and overall scorer, those lofty comparisons are not for no reason. Joyce finished the year averaging 19.2 PPG and 6.8 RPG. She also averaged 1.8 SPG and 1.1 BPG.
7. Azzi Fudd
School: UConn Huskies
Position: Guard
Next Season Status: Dallas Wings
There may not be a jump shot in college basketball more aesthetically pleasing than Azzi Fudd’s. And it doesn’t just look good, it is good. Every fully healthy year of college basketball Azzi has played, she has shot over 40% from three, and she set a career best this season, shooting 44.6% from range. Her long-range shooting and overall offensive efficiency are what make her the likely number 1 pick of tonights draft.
She has also developed into a really solid defender for a UConn team that hung its hat on that side of the ball this season, being one of the best in the nation. Azzi finished the year averaging 17.1 PPG and set career highs in FG % at 48.1 and shot an absurd 95.5% from the line.
6. Olivia Miles
School: TCU Horned Frogs
Position: Guard
Next Season Status: Minnesota Lynx
Olivia Miles’ decision to pass up the WNBA draft and transfer to TCU from Notre Dame was a massive surprise to a lot of people, but with her 5th season over, I think it proved to be the right move.
TCU’s pick-and-roll-heavy style seemed to have maximized Olivia’s generational passing ability. Early in Olivia’s career, there were real questions about whether Olivia was a good enough scorer and jumpshooter to justify her having the ball a lot.
Although her lack of a mid-range game and lack of elite burst are still issues, she has answered a few questions, specifically when it comes to her 3-point shooting over the past 2 seasons. She stuffed the stat sheet this season, averaging 19.6 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6.6 APG.
5. Madison Booker
School: Texas Longhorns
Position: Guard
Next Season Status: Returning
In the heart of the Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Players 2025-2026 Rankings, Junior guard Madison Booker guided the Longhorns to their best finish in 23 years.
This was one of the most successful seasons in program history for the Longhorns, and Madison Booker was at the center of that. Texas captured its first SEC tourney title, with Madison being the MVP of it, and they also made the final 4 for the first time in 23 years. Madison is a true three-level scorer and has fantastic vision.
She gets the comparison to KD a lot, and it’s not just due to them sharing the same number and school. The handle she has at her size and her guard ability, with great length and fluidity, is similar to that of the future Hall of Famer. She finished this season averaging 18.9 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 3.7 APG.
4. Hannah Hidalgo
School: Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Position: Guard
Next Season Status: Returning
There are multiple elite defenders on this list, but none were statistically better than Hannah Hidalgo. Her defensive pressure and hands are special, and nobody in the country is able to create offense from defense the way Hannah does. She had a game this season with 16 steals, which was the most ever; she broke the single-season steals record in D1 this season and won the Naismith and WBCA Defensive Player of the Year.
Hannah’s an outstanding offensive player as well, and does an excellent job getting to the rim. She averaged 25.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 5.2 APG, and an otherworldly 5.6 SPG.
3. Mikayla Blakes
Team: Vanderbilt Commodores
Position: Forward
Next Season Status: Returning
The Vanderbilt Commodores rise over the past two seasons has mirrored the surge of Mikayla Blakes as an all-around backcourt force while taking the country by storm during her sophomore season.
I don’t know if many players in the country have had bigger impacts on their program in the past two years than Mikayla Blakes has had at Vanderbilt. She put up record-breaking numbers as a freshman, and in year two, she upped her game.
Mikayla is an elite three-level scorer and a nightmare to try to stay in front of. Her combination of speed and ball handling helps her get to the lane when she wants and constantly get to the line. Mikayla led the country in scoring with 27.1 PPG, and in a lot of other years, she could have seen her name at the top of this list.
2. Lauren Betts
Team: UCLA Bruins
Position: Center
Next Season Status: Washington Mystics
Lauren Betts stock undoubtedly went up following UCLA’s run to the championship. Not to say Lauren wasn’t considered the cream of the crop in college basketball to begin with, but her clutch block against Madison Booker in the final 4 and her overall play down the stretch have boosted her stock even more. Lauren’s ability to dominate the interior on both ends is special.
Her post game and soft touch around the rim, coupled with her size, make her one of the toughest covers in the sport, but her underrated switchability on defense may have been her biggest contribution to UCLA in the tourney. Texas constantly tried to get Lauren to switch onto Madison Booker, and Lauren held her own all game, holding one of the best players in the country in check. Lauren finished the season averaging 17.1 PPG, 8.8 RPG, and 2.1 BPG. She was also the NCAA tournament MOP and took home Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
1. Sarah Strong
Team: Uconn Huskies
Position: Forward
Next Season Status: Returning
I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say Sarah Strong has the potential to be one of the best prospects ever, and her ceiling is truly limitless if her potential is realized. Sarah is about as complete as anyone in the country, and there isn’t a real weakness in her game. She has a high basketball IQ and can dominate a game in every facet. She is a knockdown three-point shooter and a great finisher in the paint. Her playmaking is excellent, and she has the case to be the best defensive player in the country.
Sarah should be able to translate all of what she does to the next level, and her versatility is going to be another thing teams will drool over at the next level. She finished the season as the national player of the year and averaged 18.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 3.8 APG, and 3.4 SPG.
