Top 10 NBA Free Agents
10. Jarrett Allen
Team(s): Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers
2020 – 2021 Stats: 12.8 Pts, 10 Rebs, 1.5 Blks
Seems unlikely that the Cleveland Cavaliers will let the restricted free agent Allen leave, with the 23 year old impressing in 51 games in 2021, putting up 13 points and 10 boards in his limited time with the Cavs. Allen can be a key player in the Cavs rebuild.
New Team: Re-signs with Cleveland Cavaliers
Contract: Five Years, $100 Million
9. Spencer Dinwiddie
Team(s): Brooklyn Nets
2020 – 2021 Stats: 6.7 Pts, 4.3 Rebs, 3 Asts
Dinwiddie came into free agency having torn his ACL in December last year while with the Brooklyn Nets. He has a $12.3 million player option, which you would imagine he is unlikely to take, being an excellent scorer when healthy.
The Washington Wizards have started to emerge as favorites for the shooter, which could make a scary partnership with him and Bradley Beal.
New Team: Washington Wizards
Contract: Three Years, $62 Million
8. Lonzo Ball
Previous Team: New Orleans Pelicans
2020 – 2021 Stats: 14.6 Pts, 4.8 Rebs, 5.7 Asts
Zo has had a very mixed start to his NBA career, but has established himself as a solid NBA starter with the New Orleans Pelicans.
His shooting has to improve, with 41% from the field not being good enough, but Ball offers very good defense and excellent passing ability.
Ball can offer a lot to a few different teams, with the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Pelicans all looking to sign the restricted free agent.
New Team: Chicago Bulls
Contract: Four Years, $85 Million
7. Dennis Schroder
Team(s): Los Angeles Lakers
2020 – 2021 Stats: 15.4 Pts, 3.5 Rebs, 5.8 Asts
Schroder is looking for big money this offseason, having turned down $84 million over four years. Schroder isn’t quite at the level for a max contract.
A proven two way option, Schroder may be pricing himself out of quite a few moves. Schroder is still a good option for a lot of teams, but he is looking for a very big contract.
New Team: Boston Celtics
Contract: One Year, $5.9 Million
6. John Collins
Team(s): Atlanta Hawks
2020 – 2021 Stats: 17.6 Pts, 7.4 Rebs, 1 Blks
Collins is unlikely to leave the Atlanta Hawks, having formed an impressive young duo with Trae Young. The Hawks have the ability to match any offer as a restricted free agent, and having impressed during his rookie contract, Collins is in line for a big contract.
New Team: Re-signs with Atlanta Hawks
Contract: Five Years, $125 Million
5. Kyle Lowry
Team(s): Toronto Raptors
2020 – 2021 Stats: 17.2 Pts, 5.4 Rebs, 7.3 Asts
The Toronto Raptors are a very different team to that which won the championship in 2019, and part of that is the ageing of Kyle Lowry.
The unrestricted free agent Lowry will be looking for his last big contract, and could bring some needed defense and leadership to any contender.
He was linked to the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and Lakers during the last offseason, and all three of those teams would be smart to renew their interest in Lowry.
New Team: Miami Heat
Contract: Three Years, $90 Million
4. Mike Conley Jr.
Team(s): Utah Jazz
2020 – 2021 Stats: 16.2 Pts, 3.5 Rebs, 6 Asts
2021 All Star Conley will have a large list of suitors, but it looks likely that Conley will return to the Utah Jazz, with the Jazz preparing a three year $75 million deal. The Jazz have a very good team and Conley can certainly help the Jazz deep into the playoffs.
New Team: Re-signing with Utah Jazz
Contract: Four Years, $120 Million
3. Demar Derozan
Team(s): San Antonio Spurs
2020 – 2021 Stats: 16.2 Pts, 3.5 Rebs, 6 Asts
Derozan is coming into this free agency market with a big decision, having positioned himself well for a big payday.
Derozan has been linked with the Los Angeles Lakers in the past, but Russell Westbrook’s massive trade from the Washington Wizards surely means that Derozan won’t be joining the Lakers, but Demar could certainly be a great addition to teams like the Miami Heat or the Dallas Mavericks.
New Team: Chicago Bulls
Contract: Three Years, $85 Million
2. Chris Paul
Team(s): Phoenix Suns
2020 – 2021 Stats: 16.4 Pts, 4.5 Rebs, 8.9 Asts
CP3 reached his first NBA Finals this year, and at the age of 36 Paul will be desperate for another shot at a ring. The Russell Westbrook trade will surely mean that Paul will stick with the Phoenix Suns.
Unsurprisingly, lots of young teams like the New York Knicks and New Orleans Pelicans want Paul, but with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton having playoff experience under their belt, it seems most likely that CP3 will look to run it back with the Suns.
New Team: Re-signing with Phoenix Suns
Contract: Four Years, $120 Million
1. Kawhi Leonard
Team(s): Los Angeles Clippers
2020 – 2021 Stats: 24.8 Pts, 6.5 Rebs, 5.2 Asts
Kawhi Leonard is certainly the most interesting player coming into this offseason. Leonard has a player option worth $36 million, but could earn more if he hits the open market. It would be very surprising to see Kawhi go anywhere other than stay with the Clippers.
The team can be dangerous if everyone is healthy, and as long as Kawhi resigns and they get him the support, the Clippers will look to finally get some silverware out of their star duo with Paul George.
New Team: Re-signs with Los Angeles Clippers
Contract: Four Years, $176 Million
