Manuel Locatelli has been one of the Stars of Euro 2020 as he is being relied upon by Roberto Mancini to lead the Italian midfield. 

The Sassuolo man is one of the most sought-after players in Europe at the moment and he showed his class in Italy’s Euro 2020 game against Switzerland. 

The midfielder scored twice in a 3-0 win and that performance alone has increased the number of teams looking to sign him. 

There are several quality midfielders in the European championship at the moment, but he has stood out from the rest and he is giving Mancini a selection headache. 

He was rested for Italy’s last group game against Wales with Marco Verratti starting.

The game ended in a 1-0 win for the Italians and there is a feeling that result would probably have been better if he had played. 

The likes of Belgium’s Kevin De Bruyne and Spain’s Pedro González have also had a fine championship. 

England has an abundance of talents on their hands now and Kalvin Phillips has stood out among its midfielders in this competition. 

The knockout stages will see even more players become relevant and show their worth, but Locatelli has shown enough to suggest that he can help Italy go all the way.
