Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold responded perfectly to being dropped by Gareth Southgate for England duty during the last international break.

The full-back has been one of the best in Europe and his emergence in the Liverpool team has coincided with the Reds winning the Champions League and Premier League.

They have struggled to keep the league title and would lose it to Manchester City this season.

Trent has been a key member of their team in this campaign and has spent much of it in poor form.

However, he was in top form when the Reds beat Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates on Saturday.

He was in fine form and provided an assist for the second goals. We have seen him as defensively weak for much of his career, but he did well in the Arsenal game and frustrated the Gunners’ attack.
