Edgar Berlanga is an American professional boxer of Puerto Rican descent, who is an exciting prospect at super-middleweight. He has an undefeated professional record of 18-0

Callum John Smith

Callum John Smith has an impressive professional record of 27 wins and only one loss, which came against the current pound-for-pound king Canelo Alveraz in his most recent fight. 

Most notably, Callum Smith has held the WBA (Super) and Ring magazine super-middleweight titles and he definitely deserves an honorable mention.

Top 10 Super Middleweights

  1. Fedor Chudinov

Starting off our list we have Fedor Chudinov from Russia. He has a Boxing record of 25 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. 

Chudinov is the former WBA Interim Super-Middleweight Champion. He won the title in 2014 after defeating Ben McCulloch, and in his next fight, Chudinov fought Felix Sturm and became the WBA (Regular) Super-Middleweight. However, after one defense, he lost the title to Sturm. 

Chudinov also held the WBA International super-middleweight title from 2017 to 2018. In his most recent fight, he defeated Ronny Mittag and his next fight hasn’t been announced yet. 

  1. Carlos Góngora

Carlos Góngora is a professional boxer from Ecuador, and he has an undefeated professional record of 20 wins and no losses. 

Góngora is the reigning IBO super-middleweight champion of the world and has held the title since 2020. He won the title after defeating Ali Akhmedov via KO and has since defended it once against Christopher Pearson. 

His next fight will be against Lerrone Richards on 18 Dec 2021.

  1. Daniel Jacobs

Daniel Jacobs is a professional boxer from the United States and he has an extensive Boxing record of 37 wins and 3 losses, with 30 knockouts. 

Jacobs is also a two-time middleweight world champion, having held the IBF middleweight championship from 2018 to 2019 and the WBA (Regular) middleweight championship from 2014 to 2017. 

Nicknamed the “Miracle Man,” Jacobs’ pulled a miracle when he recovered completely from osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. after spending 19 months out of the sport. 

Though he spent most of his career at middleweight, his last fight was against Gabriel Rosado, at super middleweight, which he won via Split Decision. 

  1. David Lemieux

Next up, we have David “The Demolisher” Lemieux on our list. The Canadian professional boxer has quite an extensive boxing record, with 47 wins and 4 losses, with 35 Knockouts. 

Lemieux won the IBF middleweight championship in 2015; however, in his very next fight, he lost the title to Gendry Glovkin.  In 2017, Lemieux also fought Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO middleweight title, but couldn’t seize the opportunity, as he lost via UD

Lemieux won his last fight against David Zegarra via TKO in the 2nd round, and as of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight. 

  1. John Ryder

Coming in at number 6, we have John Ryder. The British professional boxer has a record of 30 wins and 5 losses, and he has most notably held the WBA interim super-middleweight title, which he won in 2019 in a fight against Bilal Akkawy.

He lost the title to Callum Smith in his next fight. Has also been challenged twice for the British middleweight title at the regional level. 

In his last fight, John “The Gorilla” Ryder defeated Jozef Jurko via 5th round TKO, and his next fight hasn’t been finalized yet. 

  1. Anthony Dirrell

At number 5, we have Anthony Dirrell. The American professional boxer has a record of 33 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws. 

Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell is also a two-time WBC Super-Middleweight Champion, having held the title in 2019 and previously from 2014 to 2015. Dirrell defeated Sakio Bika to win the WBC title in 2014, whereas in 2019, the win came against Avni Yıldırım. 

Last night he fought Marcos Hernandez and won via KO in the 4th round. As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight. 

  1. Billy Joe Saunders

Billy Joe Saunders is also from Britain and has a professional record of 30 wins and one loss. Saunders was also undefeated until he faced Canelo Alvarez in his most recent fight. 

Saunders has had a very impressive career and has held world titles in two divisions. He defeated Andy Lee in 2015 to become the WBO middleweight champion and defended his title three times before moving to super-middleweight. 

He also won the WBO Super-Middleweight Title, after defeating Shevat Isufi, and defended the title twice before losing it to Canelo Alveraz.  Saunders has also won multiple notable regional titles. 

His next fight has not been announced yet.

  1. Caleb Plant

Caleb Plant is an American professional boxer, with a record of 21 wins and 1 loss, with 12 knockouts. 

In 2019, PLant defeated José Uzcátegui to win the IBF super-middleweight championship and has since defended it three times. Last night, Plant fought against Canelo Alvarez, defending his IBF world title, and with Canels titles also on the line. 

However, He lost the fight via KO in the 11th round. The fight was larly one sided, with Canelo being the aggressor and continuously throwing power shots at the plant. To his credit, Plant took the shots well, until the 11th, when he was knocked down once, and when he got up, Canelo kept up the pressure, sending him back to the canvas in the same round.  

  1. David Benavidez

Anthony David Benavidez makes it at number 2 on our list. The American professional boxer has an undefeated professional record of 24 wins and no losses, and he is a two-time WBC Super Middleweight champion. 

He defeated Ronald Gavril in 2017 to become the champion the first time, and the second time he won against Anthony Dirrell. 

In his most recent fight, Benavidez defeated Ronald Ellis via TKO in the 11th round, and his next fight is going to be against Kyrone Davis next weekend on Nov 13, 2021

  1. Canelo Álvarez

Title(s): WBA Super, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring Champion

Canelo has undoubtedly solidified himself as the Boxing Pound For Pound King. He remains on the top of the P4P lists by Ring Magazine, The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, Boxing Writers Association of America, BoxRec and here on FanRankings.com 

With an incredible record of 57 wins and only one defeat, the Mexican professional boxer has won multiple world championships in four different weight classes from light-middleweight to light-heavyweight, moreover, he has held unified world titles in three of those divisions. 

He has also resigned as the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and The Ring middleweight champion. At Light Middleweight, he held the unified WBA, WBC, and The Ring titles, and he also briefly held the WBO Light Heavyweight title. 

As of last night, Canelo is the Undisputed World Champion at Super Middleweight. He already held the unified WBC, WBO, WBA and the Ring super middleweight titles, and last night he defeated Caleb Plant to win the IBF title as well, unifying the four major belts. 

He won the fight via 11th round knockout, after a dominant performance throughout the fight.
