The 2022-23 NCAA Football schedule is set to kick off on Saturday August 27th, 2022 as the march towards the NCAA Playoffs begin.

As you look around the 2022 college football landscape, the game is loaded with a ton of talented football players taking to the field each week while building a resume that lands them on an NFL team during the 2023 NFL Draft.

From top tier quarterbacks to stud defensive stars, there is no shortage of players looking to dominate the highlight room while also looking to land on the Top 10 College Football Players Preview Rankings 2022 list.

Two of those top tier quarterbacks that stand out heading into the 2022 NCAA Football schedule are Bryce Young of the Alabama Crimson Tide and C.J. Stroud of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Each of these quarterbacks put up big seasons last year and both look to have the talent to be potential number one overall NFL Draft picks.

Meanwhile defensive stars Will Anderson of the Crimson Tide and Jalen Carter are also big-time playmakers.

Meanwhile other offensive stars such as running back Bijan Robinson, and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba have all the tools to put up big numbers. Here is a look at the Top 10 College Football Players Preview Rankings 2022 list.

Honorable Mention

Brock Bowers

School: Georgia Bulldogs

Position: Tight End

Just missing the Top 10 College Football Preseason Player Preview Rankings 2022 list is the Georgia Bulldogs stud tight end Brock Bowers.

Bowers, who is possibly the best tight end in College Football put together a stellar freshman season for the Bulldogs while being a key piece of the team’s success in winning the National Championship.

As a freshman Bowers posted 56 catches for 882 yards and 13 touchdown receptions. Look for Bowers to continue to develop as one of the best past catching weapons in College Football while increasing his draft status in 2023.

Deuce Vaughn

School: Kansas State Wildcats

Position: Running Back

Another big-time performance stud looking to continue their success from the 2021-22 NCAA Football schedule is Deuce Vaughn of the Kansas State Wildcats.

The Wildcats running back took a big stride forward in his sophomore season posting 1,404 yards on the ground to go along with 18 rushing touchdowns.

In addition, Vaughn was a key staple within the team’s passing attack, pulling in 49 catches for 468 yards to go along with four touchdown catches.

Like Bowers, Vaughn is looking to solidify himself as the top running back in the country this season while impressing NFL scouts.

Top 10 College Football Players

10. Jordan Addison

School: USC Trojans

Position: Wide Receiver

Jordan Addison is one of the Top College Football players in the country with or without Caleb Williams under center at quarterback.

Nonetheless the addition of Williams makes Jordan Addison landing on the Top 10 College Football Players Preview Rankings 2022 an easy call.

Addison however will have an opportunity to build on his Fred Biletnikoff Award season last year in which he posted 100 catches for 1,593 receiving yards and 17 touchdown catches.

Now with William under center and Lincoln Riley the head coach, the Trojans offense will look to take another big step forward this season.

9. Caleb Williams

School: USC Trojans

Position: Quarterback

During his freshman season with the Oklahoma Sooners, Caleb Williams showcased at times his potential to be a dominating quarterback including a 402-yard passing performance and six touchdown throw contest against Texas Tech on October 30th, 2021.

Nonetheless, Williams lost his starting job late opening the door up for his departure while following his former head coach Riley out west to USC.

For Williams the addition of the top wide receiver in College Football should give him a big-time weapon to throw to from the first offensive play of the college football season.

8. Kelee Ringo

School: Georgia Bulldogs

Position: Cornerback

Rewind just a handful months back and Kelee Ringo was making the biggest play of his young college football career.

On that play Ringo picked off Bryce Young in the National Championship Game and returned it 79 yards to secure the National Title for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ringo has the big play abilities to be one of the top defensive players in all of College Football during the 2022 NCAA Football Schedule.

Over the course of the season, Ringo posted 26 solo tackles to go along with two interceptions and eight passes defended.

7. TreVeyon Henderson

School: Ohio State Buckeyes

Position: Running Back

One of the most explosive College Football offenses features three of the top College Football players in the country.

Those three include Heisman candidate C.J. Stroud as well as big time playmaking wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and stud running back TreVeyon Henderson.

As Henderson looks to take another big step forward during the 2022 NCAA Football schedule, the Buckeyes running back should have a ton of opportunities both in the running game and passing game to put up big numbers as opposing defenses look to disrupt Stroud.

Henderson finished last season averaging 6.8 yards per carry for 1,248 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns to go along with four touchdown receptions.

6. Jaxon Smith-Njigba

School: Ohio State Buckeyes

Position: Wide Receiver

Coming in just ahead of TreVeyon Henderson on the Top 10 College Football Players Preview Rankings 2022 list is his teammate Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Despite being part of the three headed monster that featured two first round picks in Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, Smith-Njigba posted a huge highlight reel of his own while racking up 1,606 yards and nine touchdown catches.

On the year the Buckeyes receiver posted seven games with at least 100 yards, two games with at least 200 yards, and one game with 347 yards.

The 347 yards along with three touchdown grabs came in the teams 48-45 win over the Utah Utes in the Rose Bowl game.

5. Bijan Robinson

School: Texas Longhorns

Position: Running Back

It should be interesting to see how the long list of talented running backs perform during the 2022-2023 NCAA Football season including potential Heisman Candidate Bijan Robinson.

The Texas Longhorns running back showcased his speed, agility, and power during his sophomore season rushing for 1,127 yards to go along with 11 touchdown rushes despite battling injuries and missing the teams final two contests of the season.

Nonetheless, Robinson is looking to solidify his status as one of the top running backs before potentially leaving for the NFL in 2023.

4. Jalen Carter

School: Georgia Bulldogs

Position: Defensive Tackle

The Georgia Bulldogs defense was a key staple in the team’s success a year ago including in route to their National Championship win against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

While Carter will look to take on a bigger role now that the team lost multiple members of their defensive lineup to the NFL, the Bulldogs defensive lineman is big and strong, while possessing the talent to be a force in the upcoming season. Carter posted a team high 8.5 tackles for a loss last season to go along with three sacks and 37 tackles.

3. Will Anderson Jr.

School: Alabama Crimson Tide

Position: Outside Linebacker

Over the past few seasons, the College Football landscape has seen many great defensive players come out to put together stellar final seasons before leaving for the NFL.

In 2022-23 the same should be said for the Alabama Crimson Tide stud racked up 17.5 sacks while forcing havoc on nearly every quarterback he faced.

To go along with the sacks, Anderson posted 57 tackles to go along with three passes defended while helping the Crimson Tide reach the National Championship game.

2. C.J. Stroud

School: Ohio State Buckeyes

Position: Quarterback

As you start to look at the number one and number two spots on the Top 10 College Football Players Preview Rankings 2022 list, both C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young are worthy of the number one overall slot.

Nonetheless only one of those star quarterbacks can land at number one while the other lands at number two. In this case Stroud lands at number two despite having the potential to win the 2022 Heisman Trophy.

Stroud is coming off a huge season in which he threw for 4,435 yards, completed nearly 72 percent of his passes, and racked up 4,435 yards while throwing 44 touchdown passes to just six total interceptions.

All and all, Stroud should be in consideration for the top overall pick during the 2022 NFL draft.

1. Bryce Young

School: Alabama Crimson Tide

Position: Quarterback

Getting the slight end and landing at number one on the Top 10 College Football Players Preview Rankings 2022 list is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young.

While it may be difficult for Young to repeat as Heisman based on the success of winners that came before him, the Crimson Tide quarterback has the ability to prove everyone wrong.

Young threw for 4,872 yards to go along with 47 touchdown passes to just seven interceptions as a sophomore.

Add in the weapons around Young including Jahmry Gibbs at running back, and wide receivers Tyler Harrell and Jermaine Burton.
