The Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) is a system for rating male professional golfers’ performance levels.

It debuted in 1986 and is endorsed by four major championships and six professional golf tours, including the PGA Tour, European Tour, Asian Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia, Japan Golf Tour, and Sunshine Tour.

10. Collin Morikawa

In 2022 season, he qualified for the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the fourth year in a row and advanced to the TOUR Championship for the third time in a row, finishing tied for 21st in the FedEx Cup standings.

In his fourth season on the TOUR, he failed to win for the first time, but he did manage two runner-up finishes and eight top-10s in 19 starts. One of six captain’s picks for the United States at the Presidents Cup in 2022.

At the U.S. Open, he won his first major championship title and his first career PGA TOUR event victory, becoming the first player to do so since Danny Willett at the 2016 Masters Tournament, and he advanced to the TOUR Championship for the first time in his career, finishing in a tie for 15th place in the FedEx Cup standings.

He was the only player to play in the final round of two of the season’s four majors (PGA Championship, U.S. Open).

This was his third appearance in the FedEx Cup Playoffs in a row where he recorded 10 top-10s, doubling his previous-high in a single season, and managed to make 17 cuts in 20 starts.

In the 2022 season, he won the PGA Championship, his second major championship title and 15th PGA TOUR victory, and he tied for fifth in the FedExCup standings, earning a $2.75 million bonus.

Won for the seventh time in a row, becoming the only player to do so from 2015-16 to 2021-22.

07. Will Zalatoris

In his 56th career start, he won the FedEx St. Jude Championship in a three-hole playoff over Sepp Straka, and he advanced to the TOUR Championship in his first season as a member. 

Entered the BMW Championship ranked first in the FedEx Cup standings, but withdrew due to a back injury and did not compete in the TOUR Championship, finishing in a tie for 30th place in the official FedEx Cup standings.

06. Xander Schauffele

In 2022 season, he won three times, including the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the Travelers Championship, and the Genesis Scottish Open, and finished fourth in the FedEx Cup standings.

This was his sixth consecutive TOUR Championship appearance and fifth time finishing in the top five in the FedEx Cup in that time span.

With losses in the WM Phoenix Open and RBC Heritage playoffs, he became the first player since Joaquin Niemann in 2020-21 to lose in multiple playoffs in the same season.

Was one of three players, along with Sam Burns and Justin Thomas, to finish the Regular Season in the top ten in 2021 and 2022.

He also earned one of the six automatic qualifying spots for the United States in the 2022 Presidents Cup.

He finished the FedEx Cup Regular Season third in the standings, earning a $3 million bonus through the Comcast Business TOUR TOP 10.

He advanced to the TOUR Championship for the third consecutive season and tied for second in the FedEx Cup standings, earning a $5.75 million bonus.

He is the number 1 male professional golf player in 2022! In the current year’s season, he won the FedEx Cup for the third time, earning a $18 million bonus and becoming the first player in FedEx Cup history to do so.

He won three times this season (THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT, RBC Canadian Open, and TOUR Championship), becoming the 31st player in PGA TOUR history to do so.

This was his fourth TOUR season with three or more wins, and his first since 2018-19. He also advanced to the TOUR Championship for the fifth time in a row and ninth time overall and finished in the top ten in all four major championships (2nd-8th-T5-3rd), becoming the first player since Rickie Fowler in 2014 to do so without winning.

He finished the FedExCup Regular Season in sixth place, earning a $1.7 million bonus through the Comcast Business TOUR TOP 10!
