Kid Chocolate

Kid Chocolate is one of the earliest fighters in the Super Featherweight division. He competed between 1927 and 1938 and held the NBA and The Ring super-Featherweight titles, and the unified NYSAC and The Ring Featherweight titles. 

He retired with a record of 136 wins, 10 losses, and 6 draws. Though he is considered by many as one of the best, he is in our honorable mentions because the era he fought in was too long ago.

10. Érik Morales

Starting off the list, at number 10, we have Érik Morales. A Mexican professional boxer, who competed between 1993 and 2012. 

Morales competed in multiple divisions and was the first Mexican boxer to win world titles in 4 weight classes. At Super Featherweight, he became the unified WBC and IBF champion. 

Érik Morales retired with a record of 52 wins and 9 losses.

9. Ben Villaflor

At number 9 we have Ben Villaflor, who was a Filipino Professional boxer who remained active between 1966 and 1976. 

He fought at Super Featherweight for most of his career and became the unified WBA and The Ring champion. He defended the title 8 times

Villaflor retired with a record of 56 wins, 6 losses, and 6 draws.

8. Genaro Hernandez

Genaro Hernández was an American boxer who competed between 1984 and 1998

He is a two-time WBC Super Featherweight champion, and between the two title reigns, he had 11 title defenses. Hernandez also fought for the WBO lightweight title. 

He retired with a record of 38 wins and 2 losses.

7. Gabriel Elorde

Gabriel Elorde is also known as Flash Elrode was a Filipino professional boxer, who competed between 1951 and 1971. 

He was the Undisputed Super Featherweight champion and defended the unified WBA, WBC, and The Ring titles 5 times. He also held the NBA Super Featherweight titles and is known to this day as the longest-reigning Super Featherweight world champion. 

Gabriel Elorde retired with a record of 89 wins, 27 losses, and 2 draws.

6. Julio César Chávez

Julio César Chávez is a former Mexican boxer, who is regarded by many as one of the best. He was active from 1980 to 2005 and won multiple titles in three different weight classes.

At Super Featherweight, he won the WBC title and defended it 9 times. Chávez also had a lot of success at light-welterweight, where he won the WBC and IBF titles. He had a total of 12 title defenses at light-welterweight. 

Julio César Chávez retired with a record of 107 wins and 6 losses.

5. Brian Mitchell

Brian Mitchell is a former South African boxer, who competed at Super Featherweight for almost all of his career, between 1981 and 1995. 

He captured multiple world titles at Super Featherweight, including the WBC and Lineal Super Featherweight titles. He defended the WBC title 12 times. He also holds the IBF and The Ring Super Featherweight titles. 

Brian Mitchel retired with a record of 45 wins, 1 loss, and 3 draws.

4. Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao is regarded by many as one of the greatest boxers of modern times, and he is the only boxer to win world titles in 8 different weight classes. 

Competing between 1995 and 2021, Pacquiao has won 12 major world titles. at Super Featherweight, he became the unified WBC and The Ring Champion and also held the WBC international Super Featherweight title, defending it 5 times. 

Pacquiao retired with a record of 62 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws and is now a leading politician and public figure in the Philippines.

3. Azumah Nelson

At number 3, we have Azumah Nelson, a professional Boxer from Ghana. He competed between 1979 and 2008 and won major titles in two weight divisions. 

He was a two-time WBC Super Featherweight champion, and between his two title reigns, he has 11 title defenses. 

Azumah Nelson retired with a boxing record of 38 wins 6 losses and 2 draws.

2. Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather is one of the most popular boxers of modern times, and he is also the highest-paid boxer of all time. 

Mayweather won 15 major world titles in five different weight classes. At Super Featherweight, he had an impressive run. He became the WBC Super Featherweight world champion and defended the title 8 times. 

Mayweather had his last professional MMA fight in 2017 and retired with a record of 50 wins and losses.

1. Alexis Arguello

Leading the pack of all-time greats at Super Featherweight, we have Alexis Argüello, a Nicaraguan professional boxer who competed between 1968 and 1995. 

He is a three-division world champion, holding world titles at Featherweight, Super Featherweight, and lightweight. At super welterweight, he reigned as the WBC champion and defended his title 8 times. He was also the unified WBC and The Ring lightweight champion. 

Alexis Argüello retired with a boxing record of 77 wins and 8 losses.
