Agustin Mauro Gauto

Agustin Mauro Gauto is an undefeated professional boxer from Argentina with a record of 16-0. He is the former WBO International and IBF Youth Light Flyweight champion and is ranked #8 by The Ring.  He didn't make it into our rankings, however, he does deserve an honorable mention. 




Top 10 Junior Flyweight Boxers

10. Daniel Matellon

Daniel Matellon is a Cuban professional boxer, with an undefeated record of 12 wins and 2 draws. 

Matellon is the current WBA interim Light-Flyweight champion, he won the title after defeating Erik Omar Lopez in 2020 and has defended the title once since then. 

He won his most recent fight against Jose Argumedo via UD, and his next fight has not been announced yet.




9. Sivenathi Nontshinga

Starting off the list, Sivenathi Nontshinga is a South African professional boxer, with an undefeated record of 10-0. 

Nontshinga is the current IBF International Light-Flyweight champion and has held the title since 2019 when he defeated Adam Yahaya to win it. Nontshinga is also a former African Light-Flyweight champion

In his most recent fight, he defeated Christian Araneta, and his next bout has not been announced yet.




8. Esteban Bermudez

Title(s):

  • WBA Junior Flyweight World Champion

Esteban Bermudez from Mexico makes it at #8 on our list. He has a professional record of 14 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws and is ranked #9 by the TBRB and The Ring. 

Esteban Bermudez is the current WBA (Regular) Light Flyweight champion. He won the title after defeating Carlos Cañizales via TKO in May of this year and has held the title since. 

His next fight has not been announced yet.




7. Hector Budler

Hector "Hekkie" Budler is a professional boxer from South Africa, with a record of 33 wins and 4 losses.

Budler is a two-weight world champion. He has held the unified IBO and WBA Minimumweight titles and is also the former Unified WBA (Super), IBF, and The Ring Light-Flyweight champion. 

In his most recent fight, Budler defeated Jonathan Almacen to win the vacant WBC Silver Light-Flyweight title. His next fight has not been announced yet.




6. Elwin Soto

Elwin Soto is a Mexican professional boxer, and he has a record of 19 wins and 2 losses. He is ranked #6 by the TBRB and The Ring, and he is also a former WBO Junior Flyweight champion. 

Elwin Soto won the title in 2019 after defeating Ángel Acosta. He defended it 3 times before losing it to Jonathan González in his most recent fight. 

As of now, there is no announcement about his next fight.




5. Jonathan González

Title(s):

  • WBO Junior Flyweight World Champion

Jonathan González is a  professional boxer from Puerto Rico, and he has a record of 25 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw, and 1 no-contest. 

He is currently ranked #4 in the world by the TBRB and the Ring, and #6 by BoxRec. He is also the current  WBO Junior Flyweight champion and has held the title since October 2021.

In his most recent fight, he defeated Elwin Soto via split decision to win the title, and his next fight has not been announced yet.




4. Masamichi Yabuki

Masamichi Yabuki is a Japanese professional boxer, with a record of 13 wins and 4 losses. 

He is the former WBC Light Flyweight champion and won the title after defeating Kenshiro Teraji last year, however, last weekend, the pair had a rematch, which Masamichi Yabuki lost via KO in the third round. 

There is no announcement about his next fight.




3. Felix Alvarado

Title(s):

  • WBC Junior Flyweight World Champion

Felix Alvarado is a Nicaraguan professional boxer, with a record of 37 wins and 2 losses. Alvarado is ranked #1 by The Ring and #3 by TBRB, he is also the current IBF Light Flyweight world champion. 

He has held the title since 2018 when he defeated Deejay Kriel to win it. Alvardo has defended his title twice since then. In his most recent fight, he defeated Israel Vasquez via first-round KO, and his next fight has not been announced yet.




2. Kenshiro Teraji

Title(s):

  • WBC Junior Flyweight World Champion

At number two we have Kenshiro Teraji from Japan. He's more commonly known by his ring name Ken Shiro and has a boxing record of 19 wins and 1 loss. 

Kenshiro is a two-time WBC Light-Flyweight champion and currently holds the title as well. He won the title back in 2017 and defended it 8 times, before losing it to Masamichi Yabuki. However, last weekend, Kenshiro Teraji won the title again in a rematch against Yabuki. He won via Knockout in the third round.

  • WBA Junior Flyweight World Super Champion

  • The Ring Junior Flyweight World Champion

At the top of the list, we have Hiroto Kyoguchi, an undefeated professional boxer from Japan with 15 wins. 

He is the current unified WBA (Super) and The Ring Light-Flyweight champion and has defended his titles three times. He is also the former IBF Mini-Flyweight champion.

Kyoguchi’s most recent fight was against Axel Aragon Vega, which he won via TKO. His next fight has not been announced yet.
